Description:
A little ditty about about divorce and the selfishness that ensues. Still getting my feet wet with GB (Logic scares me). This is my first attempt at putting something up here, so any input is welcome.

Lyrics:
I’m Fine

All this time, in another place
Loneliness the gift I give
But you know I’ve got to run my race
Oh the life I’m gonna live

Cause I’m fine

Off to fly into my blue sky
Wish that you could come along
Those inconvenient tears you want to cry
But I know that you’ll be strong

Gonna take my turn
Gonna take it back
Gonna grab the ring
And all the things I lack

Now it’s in my grasp
Now I get to shine
You know I’ll think about you
When I get the time

Cause I'm fine

hey man, this is a cool first post, catchy little chorus
and nice backing vocals. Have fun with GB.

great debut &mdash 11/29/05 - 09:33:34 AM
Solid rock groove with a great chorus, making for a nice macjams opening statement. Lyrically, I would have liked to hear more details about the split - why did the relationship go bad? - rather than all of the no-fault generalities. But perhaps I am prying. The ending kind of dies out; I think it could be more emphatic. Or maybe it just ends too soon? I throw these comments out as general off-the-cuff feeback. All in all, a great debut at macjams, and I hope to hear more from you.

great debut &mdash 11/29/05 - 09:48:25 AM
Thank you for the insightful comments (I think you are right on). Yes, the song does end a little abruptly...I didn't want to overstay my musical welcome (as someone who is new here). The lyrics are actually directed towards the children left behind (as men are sometimes good at forgetting them in their haste to make a new life). Perhaps a little too cynical and obscure to tell a proper story.

Very nice &mdash 12/01/05 - 06:48:05 PM
I love the lush sound of the chorus. Catchy song with good lyrics and
good vocals (you might bring them up just a tad). I love the overall sound,
just a little dark and dreamy. Fitting for the subject. The quick ending
doesn't really bother me too much, but if you ever decide to revist it, I
would mind hearing the song go on a bit further. Maybe another repeat of
the chorus and then a fade out with an instrumental verse. Very cool first
submission. I'm looking forward to more great stuff.
