Description:
:)

Yet another song in "Ronnielong's Pub Jam" Adventure!! Woo Hooo!

Just me an me guitar again.

-Cheers-

Lyrics:
Chorus:
I'm a rambler, I'm a gambler,
I'm a long way from home
And if you don't like me,
Well, leave me alone
I'll eat when I'm hungry,
I'll drink when I'm dry
And if moonshine don't kill me,
I'll live til I die

Verses:
I've been a moonshiner for many a year
I've spent all me money on whiskey and beer
I'll go to some hollow, I'll set up my still
And I'll make you a gallon for a ten shilling bill

I'll go to some hollow in this count-er-y
Ten gallons of wash I can go on a spree
No women to follow, the world is all mine
I love none so well as I love the moonshine

Oh, moonshine, dear moonshine, oh, how I love thee
You killed me old father, but ah you try me
Now bless all moonshiners and bless all moonshine
Their breath smells as sweet as the dew on the vine

Bloody great song &mdash 11/29/05 - 01:00:35 PM
Great track. Love the vocals.

The accoutic sounds a bit 'direct input' - I'd like something a bit more
organic.

Still damn good, though

in the memory of the best football player... &mdash 11/29/05 - 03:25:41 PM
As George Best once said... "I spent a lot of money on booze, birds and fast cars. The rest I just squandered."

Good playing Ronnie:)
I like the deep part of the guitar sound. Kind of groovy.
And of course I like your vocal performance.

Classic &mdash 11/29/05 - 05:13:05 PM
Great! Terrific lyrics with a very folksy feel. I like your take on the
vocals too, up close and a little rough in the throat. It all comes
together to seem very authentic.

I'd love to hear some sort of banging, clanking rhythm in the
background, like the bar patrons are joining in by stomping feet and
slapping on the side of pots. Toss in a few hollars and yelps? Maybe
the into chorus could be a free tempo a capella before the guitar first
appears? This makes me want to blow off work and head over to my
local Irish tap!

ronnie's voice &mdash 11/30/05 - 11:19:35 AM
is a great thing!!! very present and in-tune. delivery and phrasing are
killer. I, too would like to hear some natural acoustic mixed in with
the processed one, but this is a great listen...fine assured guitar
playing....nice one ronnie!!!

Has a very raw feel to it, but was done quite nicely.

Funky Country &mdash 12/14/05 - 02:58:59 PM
Now don't take this the wrong way but I thought it reminded me of Kid
Rock in his country mode. I actually think Mr. Rock does a good job of
singing country with an attitude. This was more subdued than that but
you could definitely hear in your voice some of that rough and tumble
attitude. The Ovation was well played and I thought the tone was okay.
Harmony vocals were fine and I really enjoyed that part the most. Good
solid recording all the way around.

More attitude in this one than the last one. Very good production.

It does my heart good to hear this song again, I was born in Ireland, and this was a favorite whenever the clan got together.
Thanx
