Description
This is somewhat of a variation on God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen.

There is no author to this tune. It is listen as Traditional English
* I just bought an almost $500.00 pre-amp . This is the first tune I used it on.
It's a :
"RNP8380 Really Nice Preamp" - That is the title of it. It has two hook ups for my condenser mics.

fantastic playing!
Man... makes me itch to take lessons! i'm only a rhythm player. this is
very strong playing and a really great treatment of the song. I love what
you do. The balancing and tone of the recording is very strong as well.

fantastic playing!
Thanks for noticing about the tone. I think I the pre amp helps in that regard.
Even though Betsy, my acoustical guitar is a nicely made guitar.

Nice Amp...
... No really - nice amp. :)

I like this non-traditional take on a traditional carol. Very well
executed!

I notice a difference using the pre amp, BIll. Lovely sound on this.
Excellent picking as usual. Your production continues to improve. Very
nice piece, arrangement.

amped!
Thanks Tom, so glad. it seems pretty user friendly, not many knobs. They even
say in the guide that they made the box to be very basic to keep the cost down
and having just the basics. The music store guy says thev've been talking about
it.

Really nice arrangement
A really nice arrangement of the tune! Thanks a lot!

And the sound ...
And the sound seems to have become softer, warmer, more "natural",
more professional with the new preamp!

Thought it is a little difficult to distinguish what comes from the
preamp and what comes from other factors since different recordings
results in so very different sound characters. Your own earlier
recordings for example show great variations in sound character (I
haven't forgot your bathroom recording, liked that)...

But this sure has a good character. The sharp edges of acoustic guitar
that condenser mics usually tend to almost amplify, are not here in this
recording and I guess that is on the preamp.

And the sound ...
It seems more up front, being it is my first tune I used it on, I have to move the
mics around and test it more.
Thanks for posting!

Butterfly's dance
Beautiful arpeggio.
The tone thinks of the recording of a high-level studio.
The sound dances like the butterfly.

That's some preamp!
Great sound, not as if you've ever been plagued with BAD sound, mind
you...

I used to use the FMR Really Nice Compressor, which is also amazing.
Hard to use in my present set-up with the computer and all. Have to
figure out how to use it with the Saffire interface... But their stuff is
astoundingly good for the money.

I like the rich tone on this, with the brassy ringing strings in the top
end. Your time and your arrangement are impeccable. Nice use of the
harmonics. Nice traditional feel.

Into the family holiday collection it goes.... And into the VERY LONG
tiler playlist, as well.

Thanks for posting about the compressor, I'll have to send you an email on what
the sound difference is between using it and not using it.

Go Betsy!
How many tracks did you lay on this? Sounds like only 1

So simple refined and wonderful.

I'd like to buy a CD with all your music on it.... especially the holiday and Christian music Will you ship it out? only if you autograph it as well!

How much? If you video tape DVD yourself playing with some instruction on songs like this, I'd love to learn this style of playing...

By the comments I'm not the only one!

Simply amazing!
I know it's not so simple. You have taken God's gift and developed it
through a lot of hard work. You are indeed a grand master of
fingerpicking. 10's across the board again!

God bless,

Rick

Nice indeed
Love the way the intro wondered into this tune. Your originality is once again awesomely executed. This just shows how great an executor of rendition you truly are. Thanks for sharing.
