Description:
As always happens to me, when I'm working on some complex thing, blues songs squirt out the side. This one just came along and stayed for the day. The day was mostly spent trying to mix it, as everytime I converted to mp3, the levels went totally nuts. I only played a few takes for instruments and vocals. Nothing new or earth shaking, just trying to put some new spins on the blues....

Let me know how this sounds thru youe system, cuz i BATTLED with the sound of this...

i love this song...I dig the lyrics as wel..i think the bass should be turned up just a bit ,and maybe add a little hammond organ in there..great guitar sound...
i'll rate this one when you turn the bass up(just a little not to much)

otherwise great work

This is a GREAT new take on the blues... &mdash 11/29/05 - 09:34:04 PM
...ziti, it's a good SONG...

I love the tone and feel of the bass line. Did that on the octaver? Great
tracking if it was.

Have I mentioned that I love wah-wah? Perhaps I have.

Love the tone of the electric guitar... Do you just go from the Crybaby
into the POD... I've been seriously tempted lately...

Great, and I mean GREAT solo...

That you on lead laughter?

Nice feel all the way through....

Ed

Those cryin' blues! &mdash 11/29/05 - 10:22:26 PM
For cryin' out loud, z!
Nice to hear some blues from you, again, 'cause you do the blues so well!

I agree that some of the instruments seemed hidden in the mix, a little?
Despite that, reallllly nice!
Keep playin'! :)

Sound is very good! &mdash 11/30/05 - 01:39:02 AM
In my system the sound is very good! It is clear and distinct yet "friendly"
without sharpness. Can't distinguish this sound from a professional
production.

If I would have wanted to change something it would be to take down the
bass somewhat ... Listened both through speakers and headphones and
especially in my headphones the bass is a little too loud.

That's all I can think of!

Where did it go? &mdash 11/30/05 - 04:44:39 AM
I posted a comment on this song last night just as you were deleting it. I hope it wasn't something I said. I like the subtle Crybaby against the tremolo of the rhythm guitar and your vocal delivery works great in this song.

I wondered how people did double post like this and now I know. It's from using the PC's at work that does it. That will teach us.

Nice and bluesy &mdash 11/30/05 - 08:30:05 AM
Not too much I can say about this one. Nice laid back guitar playing,
smooth vocals and a nice feel all the way through. Thats a nice bass
sound for using an octaver... and you can't really tell until it gets to the
bass solo, but even then theres no real problem. The mix is generally
good... though I agree a hammond organ would've been nice, partly to
fill in the classic blues sound... but also something to balance the 2nd
guitar in the mix as its a little biased to the left side (even though your
lyrics are a little to the right).

A little more nitpicking... the guitars and bass sounded a little out of
time during the very final chorus which was a little off putting... and it
would've been real nice if there was way more variation in the drum
track (but I'm assuming you're using an audio loop so I can understand
why).

Other than that... nice and groovy.

great song &mdash 11/30/05 - 09:41:26 AM
soft jazzy blues... great smirky lyrics... as for the mix, it does sound a
little funny, sounds like a constant peak in the high midrange, maybe
(in my headphones). Wonderful guitar playing as usual, fun bass &
jazzy drums.

Drakonis

Very nice work.

I'm sensing some repeatitiveness in my comments on your songs... i
guess it's a good thing, no?

8.13, huh? Guess I'm off the hook :)

santa impressions &mdash 11/30/05 - 06:47:21 PM
Fran, just noticed this. I don't have much more to say than that I love this one too. Love the santa impressions at the start!!! Why don't you sing more - the voice sounds great - can I say "full of character"? Brilliant playing as usual. Sounds fine on my phones - some cool Hammond would add a nice touch though.
Thanks,
Neil

Classic, New Wave Blues &mdash 12/04/05 - 10:35:16 AM
As can do, took a couple of listens to be In The Space (even My Man
Albert Collins can take a couple) and then it's Panavision.

Just got Your Album (fr Lost Rec.s) - Just Great - and here's more
evolution of your wide vocabulary. Really Fine.

Best,
Coop
