Description:
This is a Christmas song that was written by my father, Al Ligammari Sr., 35 years ago. My family sings this every year. I thought it would be a great idea to have some of my fellow MacJammers contribute instrumental or vocal parts for this to be a complete song.
It was released last year on MacJams. This year I am releasing an alternate version, a little more acoustic sounding than the original. The original can be heard here: Yuletide Joy (At the original posted song link, is a list of all the collaborators).
The following people are included on this alternate version.
MissChaos, midi piano and string performance/arrangement (Milwaukee, WI)
Joanna, vocals and "Oooohs" (Los Angeles, CA)
SlimGirlFat, vocals (London, England)
Paul_T, midi acoustic guitars (Brooklyn, CT)
Dadai, real recorder (Santa Barbara, CA)
Al Ligammari Sr., lyrics/music and vocals (Niagara Falls, NY)
Patricia Greiner, vocals (Niagara Falls, NY)
Alimar, vocals, midi French Horns and midi piano (Niagara Falls, NY)
Snoopy & Woodstock, sleigh bells and triangle courtesy of Scorpjammer, (Reading, PA)
My dad thanks you all... and I thank you, too!
A 3 song EP Compact Disc is released on "The Lost Records" for the purchase price of $3.99, plus S & H.
Lyrics:
Yuletide Joy (Music and lyrics Copyright ©2005 Al Ligammari Sr. – All Rights Reserved)
Christmas is for little kids
I certainly ought to know
Because I was a little kid
Not very long ago
Chorus:
We never tire of listening to the story
About the coming of the Christ child and his glory
And how he came to give us love
And peace from heaven above
The laughter in the falling snow
In joy they play along
As tots with bright red cheeks aglow
Sing of this joyous song
Repeat Chorus
Tots will dream of Santa Claus
And gifts that he will bring
But they will not forget I know
This glorious song we sing
Repeat Chorus
The joys of life this season brings
The many thanks we owe
And so to him this song we sing
For he has made it so
Repeat Chorus

Ah, My Girfriend's Favorite! &mdash 12/09/05 - 08:48:06 PM
Marcia is still amazed and delighted by your father's song. The fact that this collaboration took place via the internet still blows her away. She sings along with the song everytime I play it.
You can be sure it willl get a lot of playing over the next few weeks.
Merry Christmas to you and your family and thanks for the terrific holiday song, Al.
Give your father our regards.

... never tire of listening to this song, as well as
"The Story!"
By far the best original Christmas song in years and years. I am happy and honored to have been invited to join in the making of this merry sound.
