Description:
This song was written at 3am, laying on my back in bed, I was trying to find some honest words for the feelings I was having, trying to write a song that I could sing when I felt that way. I had been inspired by alot of old R & B music but I didn't really translate that over in the song creation, it's smooth, but not as soulful as I imagined it to be. I think it's all in my singing.
Lyrics:
It's all so simple
but it's far from clear
cause I can't place the shackles
holding me here
I don't believe in evil
and I don't know sin
I don't know how this man
is supposed to begin
and all I need is, all I need
and all I need is, all I need
is a little bit of home
it's easy to fly high
yeah we all do
life is a cold town
and it's makes that edge smooth
but your watching life fly by
and you know that's it's true
you can run from your demons
but they're going to find you
and all I need is, all i need
and all I need is, all I need
a little piece of home
maybe I should quite now
before I fail
when life is your coffin
well your fears are the nails
maybe I should get a job
where I could turn my mind off
maybe I'm just too late
maybe I'm just to soft
and all I need is, all I need
and all I need is, all I need
just a little piece of home

This is awesome! &mdash 12/04/05 - 12:25:55 PM
Very nice production...pulled me in from the start with the lush guitar.
Vocal very fitting for the song... pleasing. Lyrics are excellent- "when life
is your coffin, well your fears are the nails" is a terrific line. Going to
listen to your other music now.... [ Reply to This ]

Great lyrics and great delivery. Smooth vocals and really nice guitar work
and production. They lyrics remind me a little of some stuff by Don Henly
or Bruce Hornsby. Longing and somber, but with a little light shining at
the end of the day. Very nice. I'm also going to check out some of your
other stuff. [ Reply to This ]
thanks &mdash 12/05/05 - 08:32:20 AM
glad you enjoyed it, I wrote that song in the dark lying on my back in
bed at 3am, one of those "i need a song for this feeling" type deals. I
had also been listening to a bunch of old soul music but my music
becomes something different regardless of the sounds in my head, this
is the style that comes out. Working with garage band and drum kit
loops also garuantees a particular style to the production.
thanks.

Fantastic folk rock &mdash 01/10/06 - 11:12:57 AM
Fantastic tune. Can't say enough good things. Such a great 3/4 feel,
sways so easy, solid dreamy lyrics taken form the few words such a mind
can think of at a moment like that, well done. Consider placing it under
folk rock. Great tune. [ Reply to This ]
More Folky &mdash 01/30/06 - 11:52:32 AM
To me, this has a definite Folk Rock feel, la Neil Young or The Band. Speaking of Mr. Young, did you know that in the '60s he and Rick James had gotten signed to Motown when Mr. James was arrested for deserting the Army? [ Reply to This ]

The feel is very nice. Smooth and easy. Very '70s. The bass is a little boomy and the voice is a little obscured. [ Reply to This ]
