Description:
I realize this may be the last song I am allowed to post on MacJams. Although I don't think it is copyrighted by anyone, this is an unauthorized "chicken lesson" I acquired through means of which I am really not advised to go into.

A little background: Johannes Cori Ander sent a lengthy "Swedish language lesson" to Mystified to help her learn to sing Nu Tändas Tusen Juleljus for the Noel Project CD Splendor Bright. Cat has also graciously sent me a couple of "singing lessons" to help me with my WD (warbling disability). As a joke, she then created a separate and unique "language lesson" for someone else, which somehow got into my hands. The brief lesson is included here, for your enjoyment.

Posted as a tribute to Mystified on this, her one-year anniversary on MJ. Happy Anniversary, Cat! (Don't kill me!)

bok bok

Maybe we can start a group voice lesson here at MacJams.

Anyone else interested? :P

Oh guffaw! &mdash 12/05/05 - 11:18:14 AM
This is hilariously stitched together Tom, though I have a feeling when
Mystified finds this, she'll have your catguts for garters... luckily, I've
heard that she does have a sense of humor herself, though her taste in
pumpkin pie is a bit odd. I didn't think anybody else knew Chickenese,
much less, taught a class in it! Very very funny!

stole it and posted it as my own. Bwahahaha!!!)

A lovely bit of instruction from our lady of the Mystified...
I posses the knowledge that Mr. Atwood refers to as "... for someone
else..."
If you want to know, I can only be bribed with the finest Belgian
chocolate, nothing else will do... or I will take this to my grave... well
maybe not my grave but at least the kitchen sink..
Happy one year Myst!

Wish you have more of this kind of recordings to post! Change your
name, get yourself a secret phone number, whatever ... but this is exactly
what MacJams needs more of!

And Mysti: I liked you a lot before this post. Now I think I am on my way

together....maybe with a little thyme, parsley, oregano....salt and pepper?)

Amusing but an Example &mdash 12/10/05 - 07:09:08 AM
of why ratings are meaningless. 9.35 for this? That's flat-out ludicrous.

Rating: 6-6-7-7 - More amusing that the average FM morning show
presentation but a cute idea only goes so far.

[ Reply to This ]
An Example... &mdash 12/10/05 - 07:37:28 AM
As ludicrous as the post itself...which, by the way, was *never* meant to be
posted.

Alas, the MacJams rating system--another mystery of life to which there,
seemingly, are no satisfying answers.

6-6-7-7 ??

Why so high?!
Anyway, thanks for doing a small part to take this out OUT of the top Rating
Picks, Alan :P

One more thing... &mdash 12/10/05 - 08:38:49 AM
I thought it was amusing and that immediately puts it over most Internet
comedy which couldn't dream of being funny. I also thought it was smoothly
done so that was the basis for the rating.

I'm concerned about looking like some kind of mean fellow for doing this but
hopefully some sense will come to voting if more people do it. Looks like you
understand and I appreciate that.

Out of the coop! &mdash 12/10/05 - 10:11:20 AM
Alan, I'm afraid I must toss you out of the coop with Bizarre, Einarus,
Drakonis, et al, not for language, but on general principal. This unauthorized
post, this private joke that I made public, had a 9.35 rating because the
people who voted for it liked it. Plain and simple. Did those voters lack
"sense?" Nonsense!

Whenever people complain about voting, especially votes that are high, I get
the urge to say, Lighten up! It's music!

"Bi-labial fricatives?" I am surprised the MacJams Censor did not get to that. I
am afraid, to be consistent, Erik, you are also out of the coop!

But I do appreciate you listening and warning us about bi-labia and other
such forbidden topics.

Tom,
It's clear that you need another voice lesson to correct your misperceptions
about voice production and vocal sounds as they pertain to consonants and
vowels. Cantor is absolutely correct in his addressing bi-labial fricatives. They
are so very misunderstood!

But for now, continue on the chicken lesson, Tom.
Otherwise, I shall be forced to have YOU removed from the coop. It simply will
not do to have a 'half-baked' chicken running around (salmonella and all...).

[ Reply to This ]
good to point out the glottal!! &mdash 12/19/05 - 06:00:09 AM
Now THIS track is truly 'Audio File Magic!'

And mystified's lovely British tones give her lesson a true sense of authority.

I often make rehearsal CDs for kids, for the choirs I direct at school and
church. Would you mind, Tom and Cat (is that your name, mystified?), if I
donwloaded this and made this a "bonus track" on my next rehearsal CD?

I know my kids would eat this up.

And now I know that there is a name for the disability which Tom and I share:
"WD." Many kids at my school are "HH" (hard of hearing), or "ADHD"
(attention deficit distorder), and now I can join these kids in knowing that
there is a label for my own personal disorder. Perhaps there is hope for WD
sufferers now, since world-wide attention has been drawn to it through these
posts.
