Description:
Another old Easybeat midi-only project pulled from the ambient attic. Metallic and cold, this song is meant to assault the senses and disrupt coherent thought. The pounding beat along with the cacophonous and chaotic atonalities are designed to induce drooling. Steelwork bludgeons where hypnosis woos.

This is the kind of music machines might create. All original - zero loops used. The original EasyBeat files have been lost so unless I embark on an ambitious recreation, this song will remain as is. I'm happy with the results given that it was authored years prior to GB on what was at the time freeware.

Pumping, boiling loop with tasty overlays. Beat could be lifted more in
the mix for my tastes.Tighty involved bold endeavor. Enjoyed!9-8-9-8

Ah... Easy Beat! &mdash 12/08/05 - 04:03:26 PM
I used to love Easy Beat. It was my first exposure to sequencers on the
Mac. This is a really ambitious composition for that application. Its too
bad you lost the files, it would be great fun to import the midi into
Garageband or Logic and add additional processing to the tracks.

Great electronic drive right through this piece. The wildly arpeggiating
synth that underlies much of it adds that character of overdriven digital
excitement. I have to smile when I hear the "scratch" samples as I can
remember discovering them in Easy Beat's instrument selector. You
used what were a somewhat limited number of available percussive
samples extremely effectively. High energy and nice details
throughout.

Actually, you might try dropping this into Garageband as a MP3 file and
applying global EQ and a multichannel compressor. I'll bet you could
pump up the mix substantially without much distortion from the
original Easy Beat output.
