Keywords:
passion (20)loveless (2)cold (38)
Description:
Alannah wrote lyrics and did the amazing singing! I did the backing music! See: http://www.macjams.com/artist/Alannah

it is a reworking of http://www.macjams.com/song/15545 that she sung onto! Hope you like it.

Lyrics:
COLD PASSION

Your touch is so cold
My skin starts to crawl
Why can’t I say no
to what can only be called
cold passion

The burning desire
to feel your flesh
to taste your warmth
I weaken to your caress
but I know in my heart
that you don’t love me
but I still say yes
to cold passion

Is it my destiny
to never feel love
to succumb to a desire
that is empty and devoid
of all that I crave
and cannot have
to give myself up for
a few empty moments
of cold passion

Your touch is so cold
Oh why can I say no
no no

Woohoo, Alannah fix, ahhhh... &mdash 12/08/05 - 05:36:44 PM
I must admit I really like your style here, by showing the dichotomy of
strength (in vocal delivery style) and weakness (in the meaning
conveyed by the great lyrics). The emptiness of the cold-passion
relationship is effectively conveyed, along with being helpless to
escape the cycle... makes me squirm uncomfortably in my seat...
another tour-de-force from you, bravo! And Domdino's music is great
under this, really, the two together are a very powerfully cohesive
locomotive. Wow... faved, DLed, awesome stuff you two!

Drakonis

This is really great. Very professional performed both the performance on instruments, arrangements, composing and the singing. I got a little surprice from hearing the powerful voice that doesn't quite fit the innocent image of you Allanah;)

This site doesn't stop to amaze me. There are now so many songs and artist residing here with such great talents.

This is so well done I just have to put you guys in as favorites. Very impressive:)

Refreshing &mdash 12/09/05 - 03:54:19 PM
Is there such a singer as a female "Jim Morrison"?. Very nice work, both
of you. Kinda reminds me of Carol Pope.

Impassioned...the way I like it sometimes. Alannah, you have a
powerful yet mellifluous voice. I'd like to hear a bit less ambience in
your voice. That's largely a mixing issue. That would make your voice
wrap its tendrils about my temples even better. It would also help me
understand the words better without the use of a cheat sheet. The
soundbed is aggressive and tight. Good job.

I actually mixed this one myself (and I have been the loudest self-proclaimer of my ignorance in such matters and the fact that I have NO IDEA what I am doing when it comes to mixing the songs) - but wanted to have a go at it anyway .... I have asked for help in this area .... but the "technical jargon" just escapes me .... low end .. high pass ... graphic equalization ??????? I thank everyone for all their extremely KIND comments .... and er yes ... I do seem to be a little heavy handed when it comes to FX and Reverb ..... an addiction maybe .... an addiction to Echo .... must try to tone that down some some some ....... .

OOPS in re-reading that .... sounds like I took more credit than I should have ... I meant to say ... I mixed the VOX part myself .....

Very powerful! My condolences go out to you and your family! If you ever need to talk about it I'm here! I lost my dad 5 years ago and know how it feels! I'm so sorry! Stay strong!

COOL SONGAGE! &mdash 12/09/05 - 09:43:51 PM
Bizarre .... are you sure you aren't mixing the story from ONE song up with the actual song that you listened to ???? HAHAHAHAHAHA

Nice powerful singing. &mdash 12/09/05 - 09:42:36 PM
The singing is nice and strong here and the music behind it is powerful
and interesting. Nice and aggressive overall.

Rschletty has already mentioned the things I've picked up on. Though
the singing sounds cool, I can only pick up every 10th word or so. It
does sound cool at times, but better diction would help both to
understand the words without a cheat sheet and would probably add
some more energy too. Try over pronoucing words a little... along with
the whole smiling thing... might help.

Also the mix could be reallly improved, theres alot of stuff happening,
but its only happening in the one place. If you're using Garageband
use things like Treble Reduction (Low Pass) particular on the bass and
Bass Reduction (High Pass) on things like cymbals and high
percussion... if you're using other software, I'd recommend learning
how to use those types of filters as they can clean up a mix extrodinary
well and will add so much punch to the tracks that really need it.

The other thing the mix needs, is something happening left and right.
Aside from the echos from the vocals and the occasional drum fill...
EVERYTHING is happening in the center... it could almost be a mono
track. Some general tips would be to keep the drums bass and vocals
in the center and have some fun panning things like guitars and other
sounds effects in different places... some hard left, hard right... and
other inbetween. It will open up the song alot and will help clean up
the mix a little.

Very cool song though.

I tend to leave the actual "mixing" to the masters ....... cause I have NO IDEA .......

Excellent song! It is twisted and cold, but passionate and heavy. I like it.

Also a sense of Patti Smith &mdash 12/15/05 - 08:21:15 AM
in both feel, style and subject! Wonderful lyrics...addiction.

The whole thing is a nice gift the world of diversity.

great song &mdash 12/15/05 - 04:21:55 PM
and I think its really cool
theres a lot of energy in it, suiting the lyrics well
with many surprises I didnt see coming
sometimes it would be nice to reduce the singing a little to give more room for the music, which otherwise would be in the background more or less...
and the song could use a more balanced mixing...
theres a lot of energy and great potential
keep on rocking

Powerful tune - agree with Lost regarding Jim, and Doaders Uncle regarding Patti. But I'm still hearing Grace. And that is Very Good.
