Not enough here &mdash 12/13/05 - 07:46:33 PM
You did a good job figuring out the tune, and I love those tinkly bells, but they're just not enough to make this piece very interesting. The piano sound has a little too much effects on it for me, since my guess is you're going for a "real" piano sound. There's no dynamic range and after the first couple of measures it just gets kind of monotonous since we already know the tune.

To add interest, if you don't want to add harmonies or other instruments maybe play around with some more effects, maybe give it the full ethereal sound it's almost headed for already.

This is a nice piece &mdash 12/14/05 - 06:07:06 PM
But I'd have to say that it DOES need more. Simplicity is good, but just a
little boring in this case. This piece traditionally has an arpegiated chord
pattern under the melody, and I was hoping to hear that enter the song
about 8 measures in. The added 'sparkle was nice - just not quite enough
to grab my attention. Good start. Now it would add a lot if you continued
to build on this arrangement.
