Description:
I have posted this before, but at that time i didnt have a proper microphone, soundcard and lots of other stuff. I feel now that I have made the ultimate "Lo-fi" version of this song. To me the song sounds brillinant. It Is the second song i ever wrote, and I still hope and wish that i will write something like this again If you have heard it before, please give it another try, If you havent... Then you have something to look forward to! Thank you all!!
Lyrics:
The way you left
gave me the feel of hope
they way you loved
made me feel above
the way you kept it tight
didnt make it right
they way youll miss it hey
now you must go away
I should have known
you would go
going down with you
Makes no Sense
and i known
you would go
going down with you
Makes no Sense
You faked a smile
i thought it would last a while
yoy faked a Life
your attitude and your style
it made me lie
not telling you reasons why
i say goodbye
hoping that you will die
That you will die
makes me cry
because im a lie
that no one knows
And you will die
it makes me cry
because im a lie
that no one knows

what cool piano stuff &mdash 12/10/05 - 02:32:11 AM
Noticable difference here selters. The choir and piano stuff near the end of the song is way cool. Did yu play it yourself? It sounds like a fender rhodes piano.
Good singing and guitar playing as well.
Impressive work!

what cool piano stuff &mdash 12/10/05 - 06:04:22 AM
I must Admit that i didnt play the "piano" which I beleive is Würlitser organ. My good friend Mister Kjetil Schjander Larsen played it, he also played the strings and the choir. Most production is done by him, but i have done the vocal production! Thanks a lot for your comment! [ Reply to This ]
low fi perfection &mdash 12/10/05 - 05:50:41 AM
Great sound you have perfected here... a real Elliot Smith vibe to the
proceedings. Love that choir sound...reminds me of one of the tracks off
Bowie's Diamond Dogs..
Great stuff

in a way. great sound and production! [ Reply to This ]
title &mdash 12/10/05 - 06:59:57 AM
Another nice melancoly and simplistic song here. Everything pretty
much suits the feel of the song, everything has a tired and sad feel to it
which you seem to do very nicely. Love the Rhodes towards the end,
particulary the slight distortion.
Not too many other comments for this one. Just well done. [ Reply to This ]
A very full sound... &mdash 12/10/05 - 08:26:22 AM
...it may be 'lo-fi', and I'm sure it qualifies in that department, but you
put headphones on and it's very big and spacious...
Your recording abilities have grown by leaps and bounds...
You vocals are much stronger than they used to be, and if you're
doubling the vocal, it's much tighter than it used to be...
Sounds like bass in there, along with the chorus...and the outro Rhodes
sound is cool...the rudimentary lead playing ends up sounding just
right...
I think you nailed it this time, Magnus... Time to write a new song!

Pathos &mdash 12/10/05 - 02:54:37 PM
Seething with emotion. Ooh, i like that bottom that kicks in at 1:30. A
little loose in places but I think it works. Very nice slow-boil groove. [ Reply to This ]
A definite favorite &mdash 12/10/05 - 08:25:40 PM
I think this is my favorite of all your stuff (it's all good). Loved the origonal
version. This one is much more lush and full and, of course, the new and
improved mic makes a big difference. But, on top of all that, it's just a
damn fine tune. [ Reply to This ]
GOOD SONG! &mdash 12/12/05 - 03:32:54 PM
Nice melodramatic tune! Vocals sound good! This is your best yet tinkles! [ Reply to This ]
Love a good sad song!! &mdash 12/13/05 - 02:41:28 PM
Nice song - things are definitely getting better in your production. Love the wurlitzer ending - really appropriate feel to this one. Love a good sad song!!

As was said... &mdash 12/15/05 - 11:35:31 AM
Yeah, the fullness is the most striking part. Well balanced. Vocals and guitar blend nicely. Harmonies on the chorus? The ahh's are a nice touch, I'd rather hear them live than synth, but that's just me. Nice tune though. I'm in.

lovely &mdash 12/23/05 - 05:52:48 AM
beautiful vocals as stated several times. don't know i can say much that hasn't been said. you need to start writing more. the lyrics are great. the 4th stanza and the part at the end are lyrically rather strong. i listened to this once before and loved it and its more lovely now. [ Reply to This ]
Well that cheered me up! ;-) &mdash 12/23/05 - 05:57:32 AM
Something a bit melancholic and atmospheric at Christmas! This
has got a good sound, Selters. Nicely done. Thanks for posting. [ Reply to This ]
mix, to &mdash 12/23/05 - 09:03:59 PM
Pretty and sad... well done! Some Elliot Smith, some Radiohead, but your own as well. Good lyrics, vocals and instrumentation. The mix, to me, sounds better on monitors than on headphones- it tends to favor the right channel. [ Reply to This ]
beautiful number &mdash 12/26/05 - 10:17:05 AM
beautiful number &mdash 12/26/05 - 11:34:56 AM
we have sampled mellotron choir and played it with a keyboard. And the sound of the choir is very very similar to the choir on the song "tourist" on "ok Computer" by Radiohead. If you were thinking of where you might have heard a similar sound before. Thanks a lot for your comment sir! [ Reply to This ]
Wow..can't get over it &mdash 12/29/05 - 06:21:34 PM
Midway through this song, I knew this one is going to my download list
for repeated listening! This is so hauntingly sad it almost makes me want
to take Prozac. I'm a sentimental person and your singing is so heartfelt I
can almost feel your pain. The song is very well constructred, very
appealing in its simplicity yet profound in emotion. There are few
melodies that strike a cord with me, and this is definitely one of them.
The strings and airy vocals add to the plaintiveness of this song. I also
like the intriguing title and the lyrics have figurative depth. Wow..gotta
check your whole catalog to search for those overlooked gems to add to
my iPod. [ Reply to This ]

Dripping with style &mdash 12/30/05 - 03:06:30 PM
This caught my attention right from the first measure. I really like the
combination of your treatments for the vocals and guitars. The
introduction of the female vocal synth gave me chills. I'd love to hear
those vocals sweep forward into a grand orchestrated crescendo.
The strings and organ are just lovely. So subtle and moody! As others
have said, lush and melancholy. You've really written and produced an
amazing song here!
P.S. Its raining outside my window just now. It makes for an eerie
segue as the last vocals trail off into the lonely patter of falling rain! [ Reply to This ]
This is so dark.. &mdash 12/31/05 - 09:23:54 AM
... but in such a good way. It's very complete, in that your singing style
fits it beautifully, all the choices of sounds you've made are right, and
the way the subject of the song unfolds... that sense of wanting
someone to die just to get it over with.. [ Reply to This ]
Been meaning &mdash 01/02/06 - 06:55:25 AM
to comment on this for a while. Really fine job here. Your pleasant voice
really contrasts the darkness of the lyrics- which to me, gives the song a
hard edge. Nice guitar play, cool organ- cool everything! [ Reply to This ]

Heartbreaking &mdash 01/03/06 - 11:08:30 AM
This is one of those songs that I just sit back and it takes me away, without getting all wrapped up in technical observations, which is a testimony to how you've not only produced this track, but the songwriting, which is just center stage here. This is just a heartbreaking track, absolutely beautiful. There are gorgeous melody lines ala McCartney and the sparse arrangements leave plenty of room for the song to echo in my soul. Quite a stunner. Vocals are a tad thin compared to the rest of the warmth in the arrangement - but that's a small nit - you truly "sell" this song every step of the way. Awesome job - p gjensyn! Silky Vocals &mdash 01/16/06 - 10:42:04 AM
Pretty contrast between the somewhat grainy guitar and the highly
processed vocals. If it aint broke don't fix it. Good job leaving the great
live guitar in its pure unaltered form. Good work. [ Reply to This ]
