Description
This is a song I did in collaboration with my mom, CIndy Spear Ross. She gave me the lyrics a month ago and I slightly changed them to fit music to it. I have also posted a music video for it on my website, so feel free to check it out: HERE

Lyrics
Here In My Heart
By: Cindy Ross & Aaron Polley (c)2005

Here in my heart
I wait and listen
Here in my heart
I yield to your plans.
Not me but you
Must head the mission
Not my words but your truth.

Verse 1
When the trials come, fast and hard
May I have your perfect sight,
Teach me dear Lord to win the battle
In the darkness, be my Light.

Verse 2
Lift me above the warring shadows
Take me to your soaring heights;
Let me kneel at the Throne of Your Mercy
And worship You, Adonai.

Bridge:
Take me to the Place
Where all I see is You
Burn the dross away
Make all things new!

Wow!
Nice work, Aaron! I really enjoyed your video. You are apparently
accomplished with the camera as well. Nice Christmas present to Mom,
and I appreciate the message of this song. As I listened, I could hear
additional instrumentation really filling out the song--this is not
criticism, but a compliment. Try it out on a local producer...!

Wow!
Thanks for the comments... keep 'em coming! I definately agree that some more instruments could fill the song out nicely. It was the first main recording I tried and liked the feel of it. I wanted to finish it in time for christmas so I could send a copy back to my family in Canada for christmas. I will try a re-recording within the next few months.

Also I'd like to mention a special thanks to my step father, Steve, for doing the video recording. I only did the editing.

Well done
Aaron, you are obviously a talented young man - you have songwriting
skills, you play the guitar nicely, you understand how to place and
work a lyric, and your singing is outstanding.

The message is strong but not overpowering, and works well within the
context of the music.

I agree with Rick that some arrangement of this song using strings,
keyboards, pads, counter melodies - whatever you find appropriate -
will bring this song to the next level, and it will be worth the effort.

You are an artist I will watch for here as your musical skills continue to
develop. You are miles ahead of where I was at your age.

Well done
Thank you. I really respect your opinion and I am inspired by artists such as your self. I credit where I am as a musician to the people I have had around me, the artists I have seen and heard (here and in life) and with a bit of divine inspiration as well ;).

Thanks again, and look forward to seeing your coming stuff :D

Real Nice Voice
You got (have) a real nice voice kid. Pleasant and rich an full of character
especially for one so young. Im not particularly keen on the genre, though
I certainly have nothing against God. The warmth and humanity of the
vocal made me listen to the whole thing. The sound in the video was
better perhaps because of different file formats. Keep up the excellent
work.
