Description
The words to this 19th Century Christmas hymn were written by Christina Rossetti. The tune, known as "Gartan," comes from the 1902 edition of "Petrie Collection of Irish Melodies, Part II."
The Noel Project arrangement takes some liberties with the tune, and with Rosetti's lyrics. Like the other songs posted on the Noel Project page, this one is included on our new CD, Splendor Bright.
Vocals: Mystified
Arrangement, software instruments, vocals: Tom Atwood
Dedicated to Alimar, who is having surgery today.
(Artwork is the CD disc face from Splendor Bright, by Mystified and Alimar)

Lyrics
Love came down at Christmas,
Love all lovely, love divine;
Love was born at Christmas:
Star and angels gave the sign.
Worship we the Christ-child,
Love incarnate, love divine;
Worship we our Jesus,
But wherewith for sacred sign?
Love shall be our token;
Love be yours and love be mine,
Love to God and neighbor, love for plea and gift and sign.
Love to all at Christmastime!
Love all lovely, love divine;
Love was born at Christmas:
Star and angels gave the sign.
Worship we the Christ-child,
Love incarnate, love divine;
Worship we our Jesus,
But wherewith for sacred sign?
Love shall be our token;
Love be yours and love be mine,
Love to God and neighbor, love for plea and gift and sign.
Love to all at Christmastime!

And a beautiful song. Wonderful collab, beautiful vocals all around. I love the holidays. They inspire some wonderful things.
