Description:
This one is of a spiritual (not religeous) nature.
Lyrics:
Never Alone
Dave Placko © 2001
One of these days I will wake up
Open my eyes; get tired of being fed up
Do something to change the way I feel
Quit lying to myself. It's time to get real
But I can't do it on my own
God, knows. I can't do it all alone
Many years I've spent running away
Looking outside myself to find a better way
Nothing ever worked; I could not figure why
When all I had to do was look up to the sky
But I can't do it on my own
God, knows. I can't do it all alone
Finally found a place where I can have some peace
A new way of life; a way to get release
I got some friends in whom I can confide
And a Higher Power who's forever on my side
And I don't have to be alone
God, knows. I don't have to be alone
God, knows. I don't have to be alone
God, knows. I don't have to be alone
Never alone
Never alone
Never alone
Never alone

Cool vocals &mdash 12/18/05 - 02:49:54 AM
I liked the vocals, has a "Vertical Horizon" tone to it. The song was solid and I like the lyrics. Only thing.. too much reverb on drums and snare a little hat-boxxy, but I enjoyed it because it was a real song and not another mass of sound effects that sounds like a TV show soundtrack. I agree about the snare. My drummer and I have been experimenting with different things. We're going to try a completely different snare on the next one. The other snare seems to record with a much bigger crack. I think that'll healp out a lot.

Jealous and Great Song &mdash 12/18/05 - 07:46:08 AM
Sooooo jealous of your hardware dude, but great job on the song. Has a
real nice classic rock feel to it! [ Reply to This ]

of living in the Alaskan wilderness- the Moose/ Elk/ wildlife don't
complain much when you turn it to "11". In looking at the lyrics I'd say
you wrote this before you went North... but I'm usually wrong about these
things... heheh.
Dave- this is a kick ass rock song! I don't have any knocks on the
songwriting or production because a song like this should have some
rawness to it, dammit! I downloaded it fast. Okay- one idea, actually-
this is calling out for backing vocals in a couple of spots... would you be
insulted if I tried to do what I'm hearing? [ Reply to This ]

I actually tried to put some backing vocals in. They got scrubbed though. I can't sing 'em in the range that our bass player does.

Shall we Say - WELL SAID? &mdash 12/18/05 - 01:48:23 PM
Jumpin' Jesse James,
What a Driver of a Song (not the yellow '67)
I knew it wasn't religous, because of the spelling, but had trepidation,
nonetheless. Not Necessary.
This is Hot Rockin' with a Pushy and Sassy, but No Way obnoxious,
Guitar with Fine Voicing in front of the well-honed technique. Nice
Overtones and Harmonics.
Exceptional is the Vocal: Great Power and Texture, esp. noticable on
the Chorus in the higher Range. Fine Delivery and Presentation of the
Lyric.
Very Cool.
Best regards,

awsome lead &mdash 12/18/05 - 05:00:16 PM
i love the lead guitar, especially the way it comes in at the beggining. the vocals sound like they may have some effects on them, if so i'd maybe use just a little less. the vocals are pretty good though. the lead guitar is amazing, i love that style of guitar. great song. [ Reply to This ]
very solid &mdash 02/18/06 - 12:09:56 PM
mpressive guitar work, I too enjoy the efforts that are more analogue in
nature, and this is a solid tune, nice soloing [ Reply to This ]

Your voice is so different on this post... great singing, you really lay it out there... I love it when someone commits to the emotion in a performance... this is a classic rockin' straight forward slammer... it feels good from top to bottom... song structure, songcraft, guitar work is classic... impressive!
