Description:
this is probably my last posting for 2005. id like to thank you everyone here who listened to my music this year. and to my fellow artists who inspired me big time!
this is a little christmas song from my album "Green". enjoy.
Lyrics:
Pretty
everything's overly decorated
in the supermarket
and i don't know what to get
everything's coloured in red and white
and i am walking down the aisle on my own
walking down the aisle
frozen chicken and cheap sparkling wine
and im the only one who doesn't sparkle tonight
the night is so pretty without me
everything seems so irrelevant
and probably because you are not around
no matter how hard i try to do
the Christmas thing
i end up thinking about you
i'm thinking about you
frozen road and dimly lit lights
and i'm the only one who's outside tonight
the night is so pretty without me
nobody else is on the bus tonight
i'm walking down the aisle on my own
walking down the aisle on my own
walking down the aisle
with freezing hands i check my phone
there is no response from you
baby please come home
baby please come home
baby please come home
baby please come home
please come home

Merry Christmas &mdash 12/20/05 - 04:41:43 AM
I hope it's not as sad and lonely for you as in this beautiful song.
I've enjoyed listening to your music all year, JH, and look forward to what
2006 brings. [ Reply to This ]

Your voice is excellent Jesushairdo-san! Such as sad song. But so wonderfully done. Simple guitar and voice. Sometimes makes the strongest impression. Great job! [ Reply to This ]
Pretty is right &mdash 12/22/05 - 12:16:20 PM
Sometimes the prettiest songs are the saddest ones and this is no
exception. You are an absolutely wonderful songwriter, JH. I'm so
happy you share your music with us. [ Reply to This ]

hiya, ledebutant! thanks for your comment.
someone asked me to write a christmas song and the idea of Pretty came up to me immediately. I was then seeing a girl and I thought that I was totally happy with her, but from the sound of this song I guess that the happiness was not all that convincing after all as I ended up breaking up with her not so long after... anyway, I totally agree with you. sometimes the prettiest things come from saddest things. Great vocal note flow &mdash 12/22/05 - 04:37:52 PM
The timing and wording coincided so well with the picking of the
notes. Hope she comes home. Great job, rip the slopes [ Reply to This ]

terrific sound recording &mdash 12/24/05 - 10:12:36 AM
I like the almost Simon & Garfunkel texture to the recording, especially in
the early tunes they did. You get the recording texture very close such as
in Emily - Were ever she is etc.
You voice is of course different from them but a terrific style with the
voice.

hello thetiler!
thanks for your comment! playing the acoustic guitar by finger-picking style is not exactly my strong point really, but i hope that it came out bearable! wish i could play as good as you do! happy holidays to you! [ Reply to This ]

the fingerpicking is very quick but flowing and your voice adds a calm much like the night. very inspiring to acoustic players like me... :) [ Reply to This ]

A jewel &mdash 01/12/06 - 10:55:51 AM
I'm home. But the song is still strong, poignant, musical, tender and sad
without being saccharin, with just enough unique to make it another pop
song wonder. A jewel. Intimate, true, penetrating. Well done, again. [ Reply to This ]
