Serf's Up, Duke! &mdash 12/20/05 - 02:00:51 PM
Familiar Bonka Bop with some interesting texture variations.

Great mix, vocals and harmonies, as usual.

Still got that Serfin' Sound goin' on.

While you don't need to hear it from me, you've got a goodly amount of
talent.

Observation --- Your style leaves an unmistakable imprint, which is
generally considered a good thing. Problem is, the majority of your
tunes seem to be crafted in the same staccatto-based rhythms,
tending to make them sound like variations of the same theme.

I think if you took yourself out of that rhythmic comfort zone, you'd
discover further aspects of your talent. I think you've just scratched the
surface of your full potential.

Keep up the good work... I appreciate what it takes.

Great tune, Billy. So much great stuff going on in this I can't begin to talk
about it all. Love it all. You are just so damn good at this. Really a lot of
fun. That said, I do agree with Joe that it would be nice to hear you step
further out of your comfort zone.

Rocking &mdash 12/20/05 - 03:28:26 PM
Rocking song! Very nice tight arrangement, well-mixed, and great vocal perormance. I would have brought the guitar solo up further in the mix, but that's just me. Can't get the chorus out of my head, by the way!! Cool.

Rocking &mdash 12/22/05 - 02:22:25 AM
Thanks. Yaeh, I purposely kept it lower in the mix, so it was sort of discreet,
bubbling underneath. You may be right though, i'll give it another look.

Great stuff &mdash 12/21/05 - 01:26:40 AM
Flawless bit of power-pop that could easily be the soundtrack to the
next off-beat teen comedy. You should send this to some production
companies.

Not the most original style, but really tight, instantly enjoyable, toe-
tappin' and with great lyrics.

I say... &mdash 12/21/05 - 05:18:35 PM
stay right where you are!!!

Not sure if you are familiar with The Queers, The Lillingtons, The
Automatics or Mr. T Experience, but your stuff is right up there. I think
your CD would look great in my collection!

I'm a sucker for bubblegum! Thanks for filling that void today. Cheers!

Good Lord! &mdash 12/23/05 - 01:50:25 AM
Fantastic! Billy this is the kind of high energy power pop that made me
want to play music in the first place.
Love the chorus and I won't be able to get it out of my head for days now.
I do have to say that as the very first track I listened to on MacJams you
have set a particulary high standard.
I look forward to what you will do next.

Cheers,

Gary

Thank you Gary. I'm glad you enjoy the tune. I'm putting together an album of
my tunes for early 2006, if you'd like I'll let you know once that is available.

High Marks &mdash 12/26/05 - 04:24:09 PM
I really like this song. Digging the Ramones feel, and the lyrics are
cool - a tight, well written and well performed song. 9's and 8's.

One little itty bitty barely worth mentioning nitpick - at the very end of
the song after the last chord there's a buzzing in the left speaker for
half a second. Wouldn't have noticed it but I'm listening with
headphones. I'd find that buzz and gate or edit it out. Other than that
this is a radio ready production. Nice job!

High Marks &mdash 12/27/05 - 03:05:53 PM
Thanks man, yeah I think I kept it in just to be a bit sloppy, but you're right..it's
slighty annoying to end it that way. It's going for the final mix for my album,
thanks man.

POP &mdash 01/21/06 - 11:07:54 AM
This is derivative of pop rock icons like elvis costello and tom petty.
someone suggested that i collaborate with you due to your pop-sensible
vocals. somebody detected the need for ocasek-like vocals and i see
where they are coming from. this song is whats good about pop rock.

Totally Cool! &mdash 03/02/06 - 10:00:27 PM
This is really good Pop Music. Very well produced, nice vocals and guitar.
Have you ever heard of Marshall Crenshaw? He had a few minor hits in the
80s like Someday Someway. This kind of reminds me of his music. Yours
is a little heavier and louder but it has that same shean. Great Stuff

Great song, I think it just rocks, any imperfections even. I think it is well produced. Very clean and nice stereo presence.

Cross Between Devo and the Romantics! &mdash 05/17/06 - 12:09:49 AM
And, of course, the Beachboys. Lots of people are talking about your comfort zone but I'll leave that alone. Only you know the sound you want to make and this one was fun.
