Lyrics
Curled up on the couch, sleeping
Her hair falls over her face
I'm riding on the train, staring at nothing
But in the window I see
a sparkle in her eyes

Lay me down beside
this vision I had of you
Lay me down beside
I carry myself away

How will you laugh?
And what will I say to stop your crying
How will you laugh?
And what color are you eyes

I'm ready to find you now.

If beauty is truth and truth is beauty
then this is beautiful
I just have to find her and say
I've always loved you
and mean it

Lay me down beside
this vision I have of you
Lay me down beside
I carry myself away

How will you laugh?
And what will I say to stop your crying
How will you laugh?
and what color are your eyes?
(2x)
I'm ready to find you now

solo

So let's drink from the cup and share some love go ahead and laugh cause it don't cost much

I'm ready to find you now.

Nice song
good lyrics, nice song structure, and good performance. Your voice sounds good, although the sound could be a bit sharper maybe? Is the lead your acoustic with Garageband effects? Good job.

Yes, it is actually! I'm somewhat limited still in terms of set-up, so I try to make do with what I got. Thanks for listening.

Nice song
It sounds good. I spent my first year with GB playing lead on my acoustic, then messing with effects to get the sound I wanted. It's amazing what is possible!!

beatiful song!!
The only thing i dont like is the flanger on the guitar........ Escept from that it is a beautiful piece of music. When listening on headphones it sounds sharp and great to me! I dont have to turn this up really loud to hear the song, it is great. It doesnt sound pretty good, it sounds great. Your voice is not pretty good, its fantastic. And i dont care about drums :D. Keep this amazing work up mister!

beatiful song!!
Yeah, I was just experimenting with different ways to add texture to the sound. I actually kind ofd like the flange, but maybe the level is a little high. Thanks for checking this out!

Real deal
This is a very very good track. First, I'm struck by your vocal quality. Great voice. I think that's the best part for me . You voice, the harmonizing, vocal phrasing all very good/. Sweet lyrics. Guitars are tasty and just about the right amount. Progression is nice. Works well as a whole piece. great Job!

you have some talent..
Nice playing and arrangement Josh. You have a great voice. When you sent me your addition to the christmas collab and I played it without any instruments, it was fantastic to listen to how in tune you are, and what perfect harmonies you're able to produce. This is something you are very good at.

Great job, Josh:)

good outing
This almost sounds like a live performance which gives it a very real and engaging quality. Very cool. Excellent use of drum loops. Lead guitar sounds like it's too far in the background. Wonderful harmonies. You know I dig that!

Hey
You know I dig it.

I think your guitars are a bit muddled, but I listen to your songs to hear that stellar voice.

cool stuff
nice tune... nice lyrics... good guitar backing... very nice voice/singing/
harmonies... drums were nicely placed... but overall, the mix was a little
muddy, needed a little more bass and sparkle, and the flanging/panning
guitar was a little bit gimmicky and sort of distracted I think. This song
deserves some more attention, it feels like a diamond, but needs a little
more polish... hopefully some others will have more coherent
suggestions, but I like it and think it needs another rev.

My mixing talents are pathetic. HELP!!!

I appreciate the comments tremendously. Flange down, guitar effect less muddled, (or maybe an electric guitar instead of faux electric guitar) and a real bass. Absolutely. Other sounds too? Piano? Strings? Accordian/Tuba blend? What do you think?

Love the Harmonies
Your voice is great .... I think I agree with some of the comments on the mixing end tho ... I found the music bouncing up and down my ear canal while listening to it ... and it tended to distract me from the fantastic vocals .... the structure of the song and the melody are great .... I think my critiques are only on the mixing aspects ... and well since I lack the ability to know what to do in the mixing aspect ... I shall leave the actual advice to the pros who know what they are talking about ... Great track tho and your ability to add your own harmony tracks is fabulous !

nice work
The beginning got me ready to listen to a big, but not roaring, hook, and you delivered! I felt that you used the ability to overlap your own voice rather well. The ending guitar solo was amazing. I give it a A! (I'm gererous though, It's Christmas).

My advice would be to be sure of yourself, regroup and come off the great opening with a strong hook. Good luck with the rest of your work.

Perfect Pop
As much as you go on about my voice, Josh, you truly have a wonderful
one, great tone, nice expression and really good modulation. It's your
secret weapon along with your harmonies.

Don't fret the mixing too much at this point, you'll learn things as you
go along and you'll be able to go back to this and get it the way you
like. It's definitely worth coming back to. If you don't get a good vocal
recording set-up over the holidays, I'd love to have a try at EQ-ing one
of your vocal tracks to see if I can improve the sound at all. Some time
in January I'll have the time, if you'd like me to take a crack at it.

Such a sweet song. I hope you find her!

Perfect Pop
My secret weapon? I think it's my ONLY weapon. :)

As for your wonderful, terrific, selfless offer, YES! yes, yes, yes, yes, yes! That would be wonderful ledeb. My only reservation is that it might slow you down on posting more heart melting music of your own! But I would love to hear the difference proper EQ'ing can make. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

As a return gesture, if you ever need some backup vocals or harmonies, it would be my pleasure!

It's the whole song, not the elements, that counts!
I echo some of the comments made here. Great vocals but the levels
fluctuate and becomes distracting at times. Harmonies particularly
towards the end are excellent. The pulsing, panning, and flanging of
the guitar can be uniquely pleasant if used sparingly, not throughout
the whole song. I actually liked it but maybe tone down the effects a
little bit to make your natural guitar sounds stand out a little more.
Guitar playing is energetic and confident but recording in general could
be a little crisper. But I wont go far to nitpick these tiny elements and
miss the entirety of the song itself. Listening to the whole song
altogether, it is an aural delight and it is easy to overlook those flaws.
It's like appreciating the majestic forest instead of seeing the individual
trees. I love this song, it's youthfulness and vibrancy. One of my very
few faves in recent weeks! Good job, dude.

Great Job!
You know, they can pick it all apart if they want to-- for me, you really
get the song across, you bring out the best parts of the melody, your
lyrics suit the musical dynamics--your bridge makes sense, your
harmonies are thoughtful and your performance is genuine. Sounds
like good music to me! Hope to hear more--love, kelli

Terrific
I could really care less about the mix- the overriding elements for me are
the performance and songwriting. You underpromised and overdelivered
on both. This was a total pleasure to listen to!

Excellent work on this song, Josh!

really well, great lyrics and song... your voice is really something else Josh, sounds really good and natural. I'm with some of the others who suggest turning the flange down on the git--which is unusual for me since I tend to go for extreme and crazy effects a lot--but this song seems to want something a little more down to earth in the guitars. The lyrics are easy to connect with. Great job man!
