Description
Months ago a 15-year-old MacJammer, White Hawks, posted a MIDI version of "Seek Ye First." In the song, she also used a vocal transformer to raise the pitch of her voice. After listening to it I suggested that the piece might be better with her real voice and real instruments, and offered to add guitar and some harmony. I sent her two versions, one with just guitar and vocals, and one with some fluttering flutes that were (are) part of my fluttering flute phase. Jemimah (White Hawks) wisely chose the simpler version, which has inspired many who have listened. It has more than 1,000 hits and 100 downloads. Not bad for a 15-year-old!
Well, today, Jemimah turns 16. So, I have decided to release the other version of "Seek Ye First" in honor of my favorite MacJams teenager. Her love of hymns, and her love of God, is a joy for an old man like me to behold.
Happy Birthday, Jem!

Lyrics
Seek ye first the kingdom of God
And His righteousness
And all these things shall be added unto you
Hallelu, Hallelujah!
Man shall not live by bread alone
But by every word
That proceeds from the mouth of God
Hallelu, Hallelujah!
Ask and it shall be given unto you
Seek and ye shall find
Knock and the door shall be opened unto you
Hallelu, Hallelujah!
And His righteousness
And all these things shall be added unto you
Hallelu, Hallelujah!
Man shall not live by bread alone
But by every word
That proceeds from the mouth of God
Hallelu, Hallelujah!
Ask and it shall be given unto you
Seek and ye shall find
Knock and the door shall be opened unto you
Hallelu, Hallelujah!

Hearing this again reminds me of why I like the first one so much. May
you have many years of music making in front of you. Happy Birthday,
kid.
