Simple Acoustic song that I added some midi effects to. Still working on getting a mixdown that I like. Any comments are appreciated and encouraged. Thanks for listening

I really enjoyed this despite a few problems. The bottom line is you have writtten a really good song and the lyrics are excellent.
Your voice is clean and sweet so watch out for your pitch - you went out of key a few times. This song is worth the effort, so do a bunch of takes until you nail it. The guitar is too low in the mix. The music itself is beautiful and needs to come up higher. It's okay to drop it back a bit under the vocals but you should let it grow to hold the song up more.
As I listened to this song I could actually hear it build in my head, with drums and bass and another guitar coming in midway through. Dude, this song would be killer with a full arrangement. Add a short instrumental break and some vocal harmonies and you have a hit.
You should really work on this one because your strating point is so strong. If you're ever interested in a collaboration I'd love to work with you on it.
I could hear this on the radio I think.
