Description:
The usual, broken relationships that don't ever seem to come back together. Logical suggestions never seem to work when it comes to strong emotions.
Lyrics:
Everyone I know says I should love you, love you,
They say I should leave the past behind, the past behind
But I don't know if I can hold you like I did before so long ago in the past
And everyone is out running around having a good time, everyone is singing songs of joy but I don't if I can ever capture that feeling as I did so long before
There was a chill in the air when you left me
My life had turned an ice cold blue
The sunshine wouldn't even warm me like it did in the past

Like the words here, your vocal is terrific! Great texture in your voice. Like
that fingerpicking as well.
Nice going bronco, thanks for sharing this! [ Reply to This ]

Thanks Bill for saying you liked my singing. I wasn't too sure if it was okay on
this one. I know it wasn't perfect but I think it carried the emotion okay. [ Reply to This ]

Bronco,
Excellent Guitar Playing
I really liked the repeats in certain sections of the lyrics
brought a subtle emphasis to the basis of the song (to me)
I think this is one of your better pieces you have shared on Macjams
Great Performance There!
Happy New Year

Happy New Years back at you David!! May we all find some joy in the new
year! I was happy with the guitar pickin here also. I was finally able to play
freely and melodically without a lot of mistakes. [ Reply to This ]
Sad, honest, blue &mdash 12/28/05 - 10:10:38 PM
It's that time of year. This song reminds me of an old Joni Mitchell
song, River, sung to a minor melody of Jingle Bells:
It%u2019s coming on christmas
They%u2019re cutting down trees
They%u2019re putting up reindeer
And singing songs of joy and peace
Oh I wish I had a river
I could skate away on...
You have given us another sad xmas song, Tom, in the unique bronco
style. Excellent! [ Reply to This ]

I'll have to check out the Joni Mitchel song. Sounds interesting. I promise
happier songs in the new year. I have a couple of fun songs I am working on. [ Reply to This ]
Sweet and sad &mdash 12/29/05 - 03:35:45 AM
Well, you know me ... I love miserable songs. This is heartfelt and full
of expression in the vocal and the music. Lovely twiddly bits on the
guitar ... delightful. [ Reply to This ]

Thanks Rebsie, I'm sure I have a few more miserable songs left in me also.
Those seem to come easily. It is the other kind I have to struggle to do. [ Reply to This ]
as always! &mdash 12/30/05 - 04:14:40 AM
I reallylike your guitarplay, it is so alive and warm. I can say the same about your vocals! The violin is a nice touch. Since I am huge fan of songs about misery, I really liked this. Very nice production! Happy new Year! [ Reply to This ]

Thanks as always Sir Selters! You are a gentleman with sensitivity to be able
to listen to my complaints and say they are enjoyable. [ Reply to This ]

and also slightly chilling. Another great bronco song. And the
production on this one is very nice too. [ Reply to This ]

Thanks for the kind words William! This is a song that was written and
recorded some time ago and some people around me didn't like and said I
shouldn't post. But in listening to it recently, I decided that I liked it and that
is what should count. Sometimes I lack courage to post things I think will not
be popular. [ Reply to This ]
Very stirring &mdash 01/01/06 - 12:37:39 PM
Wow- what a beautiful song while also being so dark and sad. Guitar was
exemplary as usual and very nice use of the strings. Vocal is just dripping
with emotion- excellent job on the song! [ Reply to This ]
mmm... &mdash 01/09/06 - 12:13:59 AM
the lament and sorrow in your song make tears taste so bitter and salty...my sympathy for the "I" in the song, who seems so lost and broken...the relationships is not the only thing that is broken...what can I say...forget about what everyone else thinks, says, or does...find yourself first...very sad song but beautifully played...all the best [ Reply to This ]
Been listening to this lately... &mdash 03/01/06 - 03:47:57 AM
I have been listening to this song, an i just have to say that there are to lines that work so incredibly well. "And everyone is out running around having a good time, everyone is singing songs of joy". It just strikes me! this tune is on of your hidden beauties that ttakes a few listens to apreciate the way it should be apreciated. [ Reply to This ]
