Description
This is the first track recorded with students for our 2006 compilation CD. It was recorded using an eMac 1GHZ and GarageBand. Three ladies shared their talents on this track, adding their own creative flair. The lead rap track is taken by a young 12 year old (going on 13) - man, can she lay down those lines! Enjoy!

I love it!
Shades of Salt N Pepa! This was a very enjoyable listen - this girl's got it goin' already, throwin' down the attitude with rhythm and skill. The backing tracks are produced well enough so that my focus was mainly on her - well-done, although they could certainly be beefier and bassier, nowhutimean? The samples were cool, little hot in the mix compared to the other levels. For the refrain, seems like she has the voice for singing as well, would love to hear some harmonies under the hook, or come male call-and-response, you know? Give your students props for this track - word!

WOW. 3 words: off. the. hook. Just out of interest, what mic was this recorded with. The sound quality is remarkable. I am trying to build a decent studio arsenal for the first time.

No doubt: one of the best tracks you will hear around here. And she is 13? Wow,you have a gold mine on your hands.

Hey! Thanks for the kind words. I will try to re-post the missing tracks above
so that you can download more songs produce by myself with my students over
the years.

I just used the built in mic from the eMac!!! Can you believe it? I then used the
on-board effects in Garageband to clean up the audio. Now, I have since
purchased a much better mic to be used in our studio at school. However, the
mic in the eMac and iBook computers do a pretty good job picking up sound.

Enjoy! A new track is coming soon!

Word is up...and about..This is awesome!
Wow... I rarely appreciate rap..but this song and the singer has a real
groove to it. If she is only 12, just imagine how good she can become
when she gets older!

Great song - good rap. Take a listen to the last Scritti Poliiti album, good
grooves worth borrowing. A few deep dark bass and drum passages
would be good to make the song more sinister (maybe an alternative
mix). Maybe let the music fade out at the end and let the vocals carry on
and the girls just step out of the room. thanks.
