Keywords:
sad (132)voice (37)vocal (152)female vocalist (1) ()
Description:
This is one of the first songs I did on GarageBand, and it still sounds all right to me. The name sounds 'deep and mysterious' but {{don't read this if you want it to stay 'deep and mysterious'!}} the title is from when I was young, i used to hear songs and voices from behind the refrigerator, real quietly. I kept hearing the voices even into college, and i KNEW I wasn't nuts. Well, apparently, the frige was grounded in such a way that the metal grillwork on the back, the coils, were picking up overtone signals from a radio station. When we got a new refrigerator, the voices stopped. Well, here they are again, courtesy of GarageBand. I hope you enjoy another vocalise in the 'Cinematic Soundtrack' category.

Hardware:
iMac, built in mic

Software:
GarageBand 1

Still one of my favorites &mdash 12/30/05 - 07:14:43 PM
Many months ago, when I was first poking around iCompositions I ran
into this piece, fell in love with it, downloaded it and listened to it over
and over. I am glad you have posted it here. Makes me hungry every
time I hear it.

Tom,
Thanks for encouraging me to post it here. It always makes a composer/
performer feel good when someone not only remembers the name of a piece,
but also likes it enough to encourage the writer. Thanks!

gorgeously haunting &mdash 12/31/05 - 06:57:08 AM
What an unusually pretty a capella piece. It is rather "Auch Sprach
Zarathustra"-ish in its choral treatment (I think, it's been decades since I
heard it)... but this is more approachable. Dreamy and hypnotic. And I
love the weird story "behind" it. My only nitpick is that the voices seemed
noticeably muffled with some background noise, but that could be partly
due to the heavy echo overlays exacerbating the built-in mic. Faved
because this is so strangely enjoyable.
ttfn,
Drakonis

Pretty - very pretty &mdash 01/03/06 - 07:47:14 PM
I'm a huge fan of music that transports you to another place in your
mind. This does an excellent job of moving and guiding. It seems less
of a song and more of an experience that needs to be shared with
more and more people. Consider this downloaded and adored.

Cheers,
Aaron

I love this piece, it has allowed me to finish one of my compositions. I will
submit the song as soon as I can.
It reminds me of the brilliant British film "If".
thank you

Wonderful &mdash 01/08/06 - 08:25:00 PM
Like the crystalline prisms of a stellar supernova, building a composition
of sporic reverberation.

Enticing.
