***Besides what I mentioned below, I would also like to dedicate this version of Hero's Dust to the 12 who didn't survice the Mine accident in West Va. And of course *Randal Mcloy*, the one who has. And hopefully with our prays he will have a total recovery. Plus all the workers and engineers that tried their best to save all of them.
I am a Vietnam veteran, I spent 358 days in war zones during the Vietnam war. I came close to being killed by a bomb. The bomb knocked me off my rack and I hit the lockers. The whistle of the bomb was very scary!!!! It woke me up just before it came in.
Of course I didn't get real close or I would of been dead. But I would like to dedicate this revised Hero's Dust to the three officers near where our barracks were located that didn't make it.
There was a time when a bomb came in and the metal from the bombs hit our bunks. Luckily most of us were working on night shift.
Again I would like to dedicate this version to those officers!
I have played this tune in two Vietnam Veteran fairs. One hosted by Country Joe Macdonald. He heard me play and invited me to play the 2nd fair at the Old Waldorf in San Francisco!
The first one was at the Civic Auditorium in San Francisco as well.

This is a brand new (about 2 hours old) as of this typing of Hero's Dust. I play Betsy my Santa Cruz Om/PW acoustical guitar. When I got off work from bidding on a bathroom, sent off the email for the bid and sat down and recorded a revisited version of Hero's Dust but using Betsy.
