Description
This one is for some friends of mine who, dispite detesting one another, chose to stay in their toxic relationship for years.

Insanity: Doing the same things over and over expecting different results.

I can't figure out why there is distortion in the vocal tracks. I didn't do anything different than I always do. I read a thread on the site the suggested there were inconsistencies with GarageBand's metering. So, that's my excuse and I'm stickin' to it. Just the same, I'm gonna pull this as soon as I get a good mix to replace it with.

Lyrics
Bittersweet
Dave Placko © 2002

You don't even know me
But you pretend that you do
You say you've got something to show me
Well, I got something to say to you

When I first met you
It was love at first sight
But vision is a material sense
And now I can see it ain't right

And now I know it's wrong
We can't keep going on and on
It's been sour for way to long
I think I'll just move along. Move along. Just move along

Thank you for the lessons you've taught me
I sure have learned a lot
Like love ain't a toy to be played with
'Specially when you're toyin' with my heart

And now I know it's wrong
We can't keep going on and on
It's been sour for way to long
I think I'll just move along. Move along

Just move along
Move along
Just move along

Just move along
Dave- this is a tremendous song... very cool lyrics and a story we all know
at least second hand. Man- what smoking guitar work on this too! Great
classic hard rock sound. Good vocal and a real nice job with the harmony.

I was hearing the distortion throughout the song and wonder if it's
because the level on the master track is hot. Your songs typically sound
much louder than most. Just a thought. Doesn't have an affect on how
much I dig the song!

Just move along
Thanks, AC. I tried pulling the master level down and the distortion was still there. I decided to post it anyway. May worry about fixing it later.

And maybe the distortion fits?
...the 'toxicity' of the message of this song?
And I, too, hear distortion throughout it. But again...
Maybe it fits this one?

Distortion or not, another great song from you with some freak-out
guitar work!
Thanks for posting your songs here. :)

And maybe the distortion fits?
Thank you for listening, Mysti. Maybe the distortion is fitting. Maybe, dispite it's toxicity, I jsut can't seem to let it go! :)

yes love the guitar interludes
but no, the distortion is on everything and takes away from the atmosphere of the song.......great licks but.....

Pretty Cloudy on this Rig
Plainly, lots of Cool Stuff going on here, but the Mx is crowding it all
together. Don't know at which Production step this jammed up, so
can't suggest much, just yet.

It sure seems to be All there, just needs some Imaging to give
everybody some more room, Eh?

Best,
rtc

PS No vote till we solve the mystery, because the work is just being
stiffled by the Mx, right now.

brilliant!
It's too true, why do we let stale relationships & friendships hold us back?
I can feel the tension in this piece you've encapsulated it perfectly.
I wish your vocals were higher in the mix, your voice is so wonderful - the
distortion sounds intended; it mirrors the distortion in relationships.

As usual the guitar is amazing.

Amanda

BL
"BL" is for Blistering Lead. And this track has it in spades. Great lyrics. Crescendo after crescendo. Vocals nested in the mix, not too loud, just right. Luscious harmonies. I really dig it. My only critique would be that you seem to have a BL and a crescendo after nearly every verse. I would have half as many and make one twice as long, so you can really get deeper into it. I realize that is more of a standard approach, and you might not want that...Nevertheless, I came, I listened, I dug.

This one Rocks!
Had a Pink Floyd/Cracker sound to me, yet your originality shines through. Cool tune bug.

cool rockin
Seems like a very heartfelt tune.

I noticed you have a preSonus firebox. Just bought one mysefl.
Interesting softness at the end.

Again cool words! And nice rockin.
Thanks for sharing!

Do it again, Bug.
The distortion ruins it. There is a diamond in there. You know I love your stuff. Thanks.
