Description:
Armadale is an area on the south coast of Skye (an island off the West Coast of Scotland). This is rather wistful 'look' at time I spent there studying Highland Fiddle at Sabhal Mór Ostaig (the Gaelic college) in particular, drunken music sessions down at the nearest bar (Ardvasar Hotel) and sitting on the shore watching the moon reflected in the sea and listening to the gentle sound of waves on rocks.
I don't count myself as a pianist so putting down this track has been a challenge!

Yamaha DGX-305, Behringer Mic200, iMac G5

Thanks Caroline - I put aside the Socialist Realism for a moment and let my
Romantic side off the leash... [ Reply to This ]

Sabhal Mór Ostaig? I've been there! I love the isle of Skye. I have
cherished memories of the nightlife too ... like the ceilidh at a local
hotel where I was plied with free whisky and then introduced to
traditional Scottish dancing. I fell flat on my face but the bloke I was
dancing with still had hold of my hand and just slid me along the floor
on my front. Happy times!
Er ... which is not quite the image you were trying to evoke with this
very pretty and chilled out piano piece, but it's lovely. [ Reply to This ]

Hi Rebsie - thanks for the feedback and your anecdote. The Highland ceilidhs
I've been to have been rumbustious affairs so I really surprised you didn't get
trampled on! [ Reply to This ]

I think that's why he dragged me along the floor. It may appear
ungentlemanly, but he saved me being trampled by a horde of stampeding
grannies.

You may not consider yourself a pianist... but wow. It's so perdy. :) It's got
that wistful kind of feeling. [ Reply to This ]

Yeah it's very wistful... the moon across the Sound of Sleat: I can see it now as if
it were only yesterday... [ Reply to This ]

Glad you appreciated this - it's a struggle for me to do a decent sounding piano
piece 'coz I don't really play piano! [ Reply to This ]
