Description
I've had permission to do this from Harald Loquenz, a musician from Saltzburg in Austria. I obtained a midi loop from his African instrument website [http://www.kora-music.com] and have messed about with it - chopped it up and added a bit of percussion. The kora is a beautiful instrument and I would hope to inspire others to check out the site and maybe buy some music from there.
My own arrangement has tried show the melodies of the kora in a new way. I wish I could play one for real!

a Sparks song called "Suburban Homeboys" - which you may or may not have heard of, but there you go. I like the piece, it's very spacey, which doesn't strike me as being terribly ethnic (tell that to someone from space, I suppose), but it's very nice to listen to. The percussion seems sort of out-of-place due to how crazy and celestial the rest of the piece is. Maybe electronic percussion would've fit the atmosphere better? It's quite a happy little piece of music though - thanks for sharing this!
