Forgive me...
...if you're referencing Usher, CR, and I'm still hearing bits of Marvin
Gaye
and even some Curtis Mayfield... Even (this may strike you as weird)

Tracy Chapman phrasing in there...

Neat ultra-compressed, ultra-distorted and flanged guitar in the mix...

This is just some great singing, Cecil.... and very professional
production and songwriting... I'm not a super hip-hop/rap/modern
R&B fan or listener, but as part of my job I end up listening to and
discussing a bunch of it, and to my ancient ears this sounds like it has
a place on the radio...
