Description:
This is an all vox track (which later got beefed up with a single bass line mirroring a low vox harmony). I grabbed some beats from garage band and did 7 layers of vox in that with a simple desktop mic (resulting in some hiss). My friend Chris Warren cleaned this up in Vegas for me... but all tracking and arranging was done on my g4 laptop.

Lyrics:
am i living?
or just living it out...
forgiving?
or just hovering in doubt...

where the will is;
that's what it's all about
yeah that's what it's all about
isn't that what it's all about

so don't go canceling your plans
careful what you believe is in your hands
all we accomplish to show what we can do
is beautiful and small as bits of sand
doesn't that make the world feel more grand?
doesn't that make the world feel more grand?

(you are living... and you're living it out
all wills, all loves, all hearts...overlap and astound.)

Hardware:
g4 powerbook, desktop mic by Jensen

Software:
garage band (refined on vegas and sound forge)

Rather lovely &mdash 01/24/06 - 04:16:20 PM
I'd almost rather hear just your voice without the drum loops and stuff - you have a killer voice - this is like a Kate Bush track, very moving and haunting. wow - what a high note at the end there, this is some good schtuff. Am looking forward to hearing more - that our works are beautiful and small as bits of sand is such a true statement! You've managed to embrace the hope and the relativity of life with just that phrase.

I love the back ground vocal riffs. What a unique sound. The world feels
more grand.

This was very unique and enjoyable! What unusual and delicate
harmonies and fun-bumpy bassline, something very '20s, and then very
'90s about this sound. Your voice is very pleasing and sounds well-
trained. Off to hear your other new treats! Welcome to Macjams!

A Faraway Sound &mdash 02/23/07 - 09:39:11 PM
You're a superb vocalist, and this has a lovely melody, but the drum tracks here don't quite make it. Now, I know this is gonna sound absurd (like pouring mustard over desert), but have you thought of instead using a reggae (or better yet) an afro-pop beat? If you pause and reflect on it, the melody sorta has that plaintive Afro-chorus sound.

And it's always fun to try something different.
