footprints (2)Jesus (85)love (964)
Description:
My first foray into an upbeat, foot-tapping, fun song. Lyrics were inspired by the poem “Footprints In The Sand”, written in 1936 by Mary Stevenson. Music was inspired by Johannes Cori Ander’s “Curry Rag” and “Jazz Me Blues”. The setting for the recording is a fictitious live outdoor concert in Somewhere, Planet Earth.

(by the way, the sax player is me, using musical typing in GB2)

I had a lot of fun making this. I hope you have as much fun listening to it.

Lyrics:
All over the world, there is a story told,
Of footprints in the sand.
A wonderful story for young and old
Of a wonderful man.

First two sets, then only one
Says the man will be your friend.
But, you say, one set has gone away
Well, the man, he carries you then.

The footprints in the sand
Tell the story true.
When life gets us down,
He carries us through.
Comes from God above.
They tell us that, Jesus is
A man of perfect love.

When life knocks us down, He helps us to our feet,
And leads us along the way.
But when we’re in the gutter, He picks us up,
And carries us day by day.

He is someone who will stay by your side.
He loves you, even me.
No matter who you are, no matter what you’ve done,
His love will set you free.

The footprints in the sand
Tell the story true.
When life gets us down,
He carries us through.
Comes from God above.
They tell us that, Jesus is
A man of perfect love.

They tell us that, Jesus is
A man of perfect love.

Rick, this is so inventive! I love the line "Havin a good time??" and the
audience claps, just like a real concert. And the excitement when you
say Jesus' name. i love it! Very cool! I'm going to try to record a
worship song because of this. Thank you! :-)

Wow Rick! Your'e fantastic. Such a happy-making music! Immediately
downloaded for lots of future fun, (both happy and proud to have been
part of your inspiration).

I really hope you will be able to do this in a real audience some day!

Please make more of this! Make this concert a little longer!

This sounds like it was a lot of fun for you to make!
Great hearing you trying out the musical typing, too!

You really did a nice job of putting everything together for a 'live concert'
effect--very cool!

Thanks Cat! Yes, I had a ball making this one. You should have seen me there
with the mic while recording--I was bouncing all over the place. Probably looked
foolish, but what the hey--my dog didn't mind. :-)

I can't wait until I can get a MIDI controller. The musical typing is useful, but
only at the low octaves. The higher octaves sound so plastic.

God bless,

Rick

This is fun-filled, knee-slapping... &mdash 01/23/06 - 04:49:45 PM
wonderful virtual live performance. Incredible. Having a
grand old time praising the Lord, singing, and the crowd
digging it. Way to to go Rick. I am glad I stopped by to enjoy
this tune. What joyful musical fun!

I didn't know you had it in you! &mdash 02/04/06 - 04:06:26 PM
Ha! Now my face hurts (from smiling)! This is indeed a toe tapper. I've
faked a couple of "live" tunes. I think yours came out better. This one gets
added to my favorites with all your others. God bless.

Neither did I Mike, but the Lord is still in the business of performing miracles!
Curry says I need to do more of this. I'm seriously thinking about it.

Glad it got your toes tapping.

God bless,

Rick
