Description:
A year ago I posted a little guitar instrumental I called "soon".
About two weeks after posting, macjammer "the dennex donor" mailed me a wonderful version where he had made a song on my track. You can tell I was delighed!
Two hours after I got the the dennex donor's version, a mail came from Rebsie who unknowingly of dennex's version had made this gorgeous song on the same track! Just guess if I was lyrical that day!
This post is a composite of the two; just the two versions superimposed upon each other ... no cutting or anything. Fun to listen to this knowing that the two singers are completely unknowing of one and others versions...
All this happened in februari 2005. I was quite new to MacJams and totally gassed over what was happening.
Coincidences:
- When I told Rebsie that dennex had mailed his version just two hours before hers, she told that she had hesitated for two hours to send it (because she wasn't sure it was good enough).
- The dennex donor's lyrics are about gazing out the window in the morning. And Rebsie told that she had found out her version while gazing out the window one morning.
- When a while ago I mailed Rebsie, because I had been thinking a lot about this thing and had thoughts about posting it, she replied she had thought about just the same that same day.
Why not posted until now?
After all this happened, the three of us stared out to make a more thorough version of the tune. But somewhere along the line the work stranded, some of us got busy with other projects. (Wonder how many stranded macjams-projects-to-be, there are out there).

I don't believe in coincidence Curry. :-) This was simply marvelous. What a
wonderful story. Thanks to you, Rebsie, and dennex donor for sharing it
with us.

This is wonderful!!
Kudos to all!
What a lovely tune. The voices are well-matched, and each version is quite
nice separately, but put together they are magic!
Thanks for sharing this, Curry! :)

The different vocal approaches weave together really well here...you
would never know that they were recorded as separate versions! Has a
very nice English 70's folk feel...nice acoustic guitar work.

Curry, what an amazing story! "Soon" was posted well before I joined
MJ, so this is my first hearing. Firstly, I'd like to comment on how
much your production has improved since then - this is beautifully
played, but your current work is much better recorded.
The song: I'm surprised at how two different people saw two different
parts to the song - like one was working in the light and the other oin
the shade of the song. Each version on its own is quite good, but to
see the way the two intertwine is really quite incredible. Even if you
asked two people to come up with meshing melodic and vocal
interpretations I doubt that it would have been this close. The first MJ
"strange but true" story! Wonderful.

Very pleasant listening. Thank you for posting the various versions of
this.

When I read the description I was intrigued but suspicious of how this
would work - having listened it has worked a lot better than I could have
imagined - just an occasional overlap on phrasing. Really enjoyed how
the voices worked together and the guitar playing is excellent.
The whole effect is rather haunting - well done.

...that a coincidence is when God chooses to remain anonymous. This
is really a lovely "accident."
Einarus
...doesn't sound like a coincidence, but something a bit grander.
If I hadn't read the description I would've been positive that this was all
written in consideration of the other versions - it blends perfectly!
Too bad it's so short, I would've liked it to go on for quite a while :)
Great job!

this is light as breath and just too short.
Music to either wake up or go to sleep to.
More please.

I really liked this piece especially the vocals and how they were arranged
Sounds like you had a bit of confusion getting everyone on the same page by the description info but Sure Glad you released this, a longer version would be great too I bet

This is such a sweet song... I wanted it to be so much longer!!! I
loved the overlay of Rebsie's voice with the donor... heartbreaking
melodies!!! Great instrumental backing also, Cori...

Very cool hearing them together like this. Rebsie's 'ooohs' over the
donor's second verse are magic. And, of course, beautiful guitar.
Loved reading the coincidences too.

… when all this first happened. It was spooky then and it's spooky
now but I like to think that Tom's comment sums it up pretty well.
Lovely work all. :-)

The different versions compliments eachother Exceptionallt well!!! Its such a beautiful song, and the guitarplaying is awesome as always!! Lovely!!!
What a great story, what a fantastic result. Must be such a small world sometimes, but good music brings so much common emotion to humanity. Thanks for all of these... -Harold
