Description
A song written by my son and I. He was in ninth grade and had a crush on a girl at school. He wrote some lyrics and sang them for me. He had the basic melody and a good number of lyrical couplets. I helped him flesh it out and voila, "I Found Love"

Lyrics
Before I met you baby,
I was feelin' low.
I couldn't sing a love song.
I couldn't rock and roll.
Then you walked into the room.
I wasn't even shy
I looked into your eyes and I knew,

I found love, I found love,
I found love, oh whoa.

I never saw the starlight,
I never saw the moon.
I never knew that I could
Feel the way I do.
When I turned around
And you were lighting up the sky.
You looked at me and smiled and you knew,

I found love, I found love,
I found love, oh whoa.
I found love, I found love,
I found love, oh whoa.

I might be crazy
To think that you like me.
But I believe baby that
All my dreams will come true for me.
All my dreams will come true for me.

And I know that one day
You're gonna be my world
And I know that someday
You're gonna rock my world
There will come a day when we'll be
Walkin' hand in hand
I'll look into your eyes and I'll know,

I found love, I found love,
I found love, oh whoa
I found love, I found love,
I found love, oh whoa
I found love, I found love,
I found love, oh whoa

Wow, swing music.

It sounds very well to me; I mean it's actually swing music and captures the mood and spirit of that genre. (Listening to this, my head fills with images from all the movies I've seen set in the 50's.) That seems incredible to me because it's such and old-timey style; who knows how to do do wap music anymore?

Anyway, I have nothing but positive thoughts regarding this song: the singing, while definitely not professional-calibur, is strong and clear and well-done. So are the instruments, which sound real although surely they're not.

The mp3 sounds to me like it was encoded at a rather low frequency; it has a degraded quality about it.

Glad you liked it. My son is a great swing dancer and has been since he was
12. He wanted the song to swing so I swung it. The only thing not played by
me were the drums but I programmed that song beat by beat on a Roland
drum machine. Thamks for the heads-up on the sound quality.

I'll remaster it.

Very Cool
This made me smile and have a good time!! Very infectious! And while
it is swinging, it has that sweet, innocent good time feel of a 50's rock
tune also. This is deserving of a lot more attention!

I'm Confused
I thought swing was jazz.
This sounds like very good '50's music you'd hear at the sock hop.

Well... no.

It's a drum technique and feel that most drummers can't quite get. Sparser
and different than a shuffle in suble ways. There's western swing, jazz swing,
blues swing, (although blues is mostly shuffle feel). This is jump swing.

I'm Confused
I'm still confused by your use of swing. Also MacJams in the genre list box (in the
upper left hand side), Swing is listed under jazz.

I like it fast and noisy.

I'm Confused
Well, swing beat is a musician's term for a tecnique in the rhythm structure of
a musical piece.

So my question for you is what genre/catagorie would you put this song in?

Nothing But...
Good 50s fun.

It does need to be remastered, but until then why don't you ask Blain
Transue to give it a listen (http://www.macjams.com/artist/btransue).

Someone recently posted that Blain's considering doing a 50s-style theme
show on his "VirtualGarage" radio show. This would be a natural.

Damn, in my haste I shortchanged Blaine's name...

It's Blaine (not Blain) Transue
