Description:
This is one of my favorite hymn:o) I used the pencil tool and typed in the notes of the instrumental part. And than I recorded the vocal part. I sang the tenor part of this song in Church Christmas Choir(all the people in the choir are amateur, and they are the kids from church, from 5 years old to 24 years old.) last year, so I also recorded the tenor part too:o)

After posting "What A Friend We Have In Jesus (J14 Mix)". I decided to work on a 'normal' version of the song. And here it is. This time I didn't use any midi, so I hope that it'll sounds little bit realistic.

1: English (Verse1)
2: English (Verse2)
3: Japanese (Verse1)
4: English (Verse3)

I hope you all enjoy listening to this piece!

Thanks a lot for taking time to listen to it and God Bless you all!

Lyrics:
(Verse 1)
What a Friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry everything to God in prayer.

(Verse 2)
Have we trials and temptations? Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged; take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness; take it to the Lord in prayer.

(Japanese Verse 1)

Itsukushimi fukaki tomo naru Yesu wa.
Tsumi toga urei wo tori sari tamo.
Kokoro no nageki wo tsutsumazu nobete.
Nadoka wa orosanu oeru omoni wo.

(Verse 3)
Are we weak and heavy laden, cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our refuge, take it to the Lord in prayer.
Do your friends despise, forsake you? Take it to the Lord in prayer!
In His arms He’ll take and shield you; you will find a solace there.

Sounds beautiful when you make it in Japanese. Interesting to hear a
language where I don't understand one single word, apart from a name
that I recognize:

Yesu!

Is he popular in Japan?

Almost all the people know about Yesu, but they don't know about it very
well, and most of them don't believe in Yesu. I heard that only 1% of Japanese
believe in Yesu. And I hope that Japanese will believe in Yesu someday.

thanks for listening Cori;o)

What a wonderful heart you have for the Lord Jem. I'm very pleased that
you included some Japanese lyrics. I love to hear praise songs from every
culture.

God bless,

Rick

Pure and Sweet &mdash 01/26/06 - 10:26:47 AM
Your voice is so pure, yet again. I really like the Japanses verse. The
instruments you selected are almost perfect. I really like this one, Hawks.

This is sweet, Jem... &mdash 01/28/06 - 02:44:00 PM
Your singing sounds more relaxed and open, like you're breathing
easily as you sing...

It sounds very simple and unaffected, very straightforward...

I bet, too, that this is the kind of thing that you could come back to
and add to and tweak as you go along. I would love to hear one of
those trademark White Hawks low tones in parts, and maybe, just
maybe, some variation in the harp part, taking it out and bringing it
back, or alternating with another timbre...

Sacred music, though, has this whole other dimension, that just isn't
about the sounds and the software... There's an element of you that
comes through in this that's very touching...

Ed

I like what you've done with this. It is one of my favourite hymns too.
It would be nice if your vocal was put up a bit, but sounds great.
Nice work, . . .oh and i also like the japenese part-nice to hear something
added.
