Description:
Here we go again. Yesterday Chad Miller (known as Bizarre) heard this tune in my original version. He got very excited and wanted to add something. And he did in an impressive short amount of time!! The result is to me very beautiful, and i hope that I will get the chance to work with him again!! Mister Miller has added some guitars on this one, those of you who know my original will understand what he has added!

When asking mister miller if he wanted to add some words to the song description he answered: " I unleashed the deep satanic tendencies through sacrificing a goat, and burned my guitar and performed Ouija board rituals" I guess that about says it all! Enoy this haunting tune!!

Ps: He also claims he played with peanutbutter on the fretboard!

Lyrics:
i gave you everything
You gave nothing back
I gave you my time and soul
cause your soul was black

i gave you the time
that you didnt have
you painted it all so dark

You painted it all so dark as the night

I gave up everything
and you didnt care
I gave up my heart and soul
I gave up my fear

i gave up the time
that I used to spend
You painted it all so dark

you painted it all so dark as the night

Super job guys &mdash 01/26/06 - 04:36:05 PM
Love it. Great depth to the vocals. Really emotive without sounding too sappy. and the guitar leads are hauntingly refreshing without overpowering the main theme of the song. Well mixed and produced.

Kudos.

well done guys &mdash 01/26/06 - 04:46:21 PM
a panoramic soundscape of lush subtleties evoking feelings of lost late night conversations with the ghosts of our former selves......................a fix of which i could use right now....

p.s......love the high voice in background....

wow &mdash 01/26/06 - 05:02:32 PM
this really shines! it's beautiful.

bizarre's guitars (ha!) work perfectly.

just gorgeous... the words are great, too - "you painted it all so dark" is brilliant!

First off, just so everyone's clear... &mdash 01/26/06 - 05:16:53 PM
...Mr. Miller is NOT kidding when he says that stuff about the goat
sacrifice and the peanut butter...

This is a cool collab, just 'cause you guys are two of the kings of the
dark viewpoint around here... and maybe so effective you both know
how to salt your take on 'dark' with essentially optimistic
outlooks...somehow...

Okay. Stop me before I type again.

The guitars sound very nice together. It reminds me of demos you get
in box sets...a couple of takes before the full, mellotron-laden version
with drums... So the guitarist is trying to sound like a mellotron, and a
harpsichord, and...

Well done, gentlemen...

Ed

Beautiful and creepy &mdash 01/26/06 - 07:57:39 PM
Especially towards the end where the ethereal solo voice comes in in the
background. It's a very cool collab. Nice and dark and haunty. Enjoyed it.

Great song &mdash 01/27/06 - 09:19:54 AM
Very nice ... atmospheric and ambient with a lovely haunting melody.

The peanut butter adds a lovely tone.

beautiful &mdash 01/27/06 - 09:32:08 AM
There's really a lot of emotion in this track. Really good.
Bizarre's additions are very nice - very subtle - but definately add a little
'something something' to it.

Beautifully bleak.

strange &mdash 01/27/06 - 10:16:40 AM
...but i get the feeling of hearing the sound of a church calling to service. its those echoed guitar chords that runs through it that gives that feeling I guess.

Indeed a great one Selters, and the addition from that bizarre guitar dude is immense.

in the background... very cool haunted track

Deep and Dark &mdash 01/27/06 - 05:52:41 PM
Indeed ..... the puppeting relationship is working for you two ... great tune. Love the darkness and baritone quality of the sound. I am a lover of deep dark music anyway ... so this one fits right in with my collection. Good job you guys.

Cool &mdash 01/28/06 - 04:35:31 AM
Very cool one. The background synth gives it more melancholy.
Production is very nice. Only problem i find is a little ambient noise in the
guitar (maybe from the recording).

A Boy and His Puppet &mdash 01/28/06 - 10:22:07 AM
So, Mr. Miller's first act is to take over your back catalog, selters. It's a
genius move. I'm wondering who I should try to convince to be my
puppet.

I haven't heard the original, but all of the additions sound organic to
the song, as though they belong completely. Really nice work by both
of you. The only suggestion I have is to bring the reverb on the guitars
down a little bit.

Go puppets!

Dark &mdash 01/28/06 - 10:27:26 AM
Bizarre's arrangement made your song even more haunting than ever.
It provided a great background to your deeply moving vocals. The
lyrics are dark but very heartfelt.

I'll listen to this when I am in a dark mood... Damn, i just might cry.

Good Tune &mdash 01/29/06 - 05:38:26 AM
and I'm not sure I'd call the production lo-fi, but WTF.
I like the moody, floaty vocals and the guitars.
My only question is 'where's the bass'?

This sounds great! &mdash 01/29/06 - 07:02:46 AM
The guitars on this add so much depth and warmth to a cold, dark song.
Must have been the peanut butter. Very solid mix- the guitars added
dimension while not overshadowing the cool vocals on the track.

Nice work, Bizzelters.

Eating &mdash 01/30/06 - 09:43:46 AM
I was eating peanut butter while I listened to this and I smeared some
on my ears, too.

not reafly lo-fi &mdash 02/01/06 - 03:30:15 PM
This is a complex and wonderfully layered piece. I injoyed the original as
well, but this is better.

Nice stuff.

Very moody and quite dark &mdash 02/01/06 - 03:46:41 PM
Kinda like the color itself! Well done - good job conveying the intended feelings. I don't wanna know the person that the song is about! Like ledebutant and others on here, I didn't hear the original, so I don't know what was added (although I think I can noodle it from the guitar tones). There were a couple of spots where the timing between some of the guitars was a little off, but the drag actually kinda adds to the piece (given the theme). Brililiant collab, my friends - maybe the first of many between you two?

Nice punch up &mdash 02/01/06 - 07:10:46 PM
to the song, Selters and Bizarre - it's very chimy and dreamy, which really takes the lyrics into a whole other realm. Nice collab, guys!
