Description:
One of my all time favorite songwriting partners, K. J. Corell and I have produced some fine songs. At least we like to think so.

We're particulaily fond of this one. A lot of bands in town have covered it and we're proud that it's so well liked.

See how many song titles you can spot in the lyrics.

K. J. sings on this one.

Lyrics:
Well I ain't no jukebox. You can't play me all night long.
Push my buttons and hear anything you want.
The only thing that I'm gonna sing
Is that somebody done somebody wrong kinda song.

I thought I'd fall to pieces.
You had me dancin' in the street.
Y' said you were tired of playin' in that lonely hearts club band.
And then you asked, "Would you stand by your man."

I used to be a real proud Mary
Before Ruby took your love to town.
Y' said you were through but the next thing I knew
You were talking in your sleep about some sweet Georgia Brown. And I said that

I ain't no jukebox. You can't play me all night long.
Push my buttons and hear anything you want.
The only thing that I'm gonna sing
Is that somebody done somebody wrong kinda song.

Hey darlin' I should feel lucky.
Thank God and Greyhound I'll be gone.
I left you a quarter. Call someone who cares.
Tell your achy breaky heart I did that boot scoot outa here.

I ain't no jukebox. You can't play me all night long.
Push my buttons. Slide that quarter in my slot.
The only thing that I'm gonna sing
Is that somebody done somebody wrong kinda song.
Wrong kinda song. Wrong kinda song.

Love it! &mdash 01/27/06 - 06:58:09 PM
Not often you get to hear good old school country music- very rare on the
radio these days.

This is a really fun song! I love the way you used so many titles within the
lyrics to make the point. Recording is outstanding as are the musical
performances. K.J.'s vocal had much grit and style.... well done!

I would love to hear more about how this was recorded... sounds pro and
like it was done in a studio to me.

Good Ol' Time &mdash 02/01/06 - 12:35:38 AM
Yeah... this one was moving right along. Nice, tight music tracks and a
pleasant vocal.

Good fun. I'll be waiting for your follow-up --- "I Ain't No Phonebook." :D

Fun, fun, fun! &mdash 05/16/08 - 01:13:59 PM
Here's a song I really enjoyed! I too enjoy slipping sly references to classic country songs into my own creations - but I gotta say, y'all done outdone me with this one!

This song is fun, fresh, and frenetic with very high marks in originality and creativity.

Loved it!
