Description:
Thought I needed a song suited to get the groove up at a live gig. One that would be fun to have a little soloing along when we start playing with the band:) So I picked some traditional blues chords down from the wall, and put some words along. Here is what came out of that...
No premade loops used. Drums is programmed/penciled in two midi channels using the rock kit in garageband

Lyrics:
DignityThor Oliversen©2006
Stick with me and you'll see
I'll show you dignity
That's if you wanna set me free
'cause there is no way I could be
with less possibility
It must be volountarily
So move around, move around
you're not the kind, not the kind
'cause if I'm no where to be found
it just might be that you are blind
you should take care of what is yours
and don't come running at my door
And baby don't you see what I do
as long as I don't tend to how you feel
it's getting out of hand, day by day
But baby, get a life of your dreams.
So what i'm trying to tell you babe
just let me do the things I love
and if you find what to do, babe
get on with it, let it flow
So don't you mess with what I do
But find - what you can do too.

Hey, thanks ~b:)
I'm blushing over here...
It's a thrill to see you've been listening and taken time to comment.
And it's just me fiddling with this one.

I love your vocal skatting over the guitar solo! Did you sing those at the same time you played the guitar? Because they synch up so well I can't imagine you doing them separate
I've always thought your keyboard sounds are very good. Are they midi sounds? Theyy have a solid legit Hammond B3 tone.
Awesome job man, love you work

Great to see you here Tom:) What a great compliment if you got a George Benson association;)
I was kind of insecure of how this song came out. it's odd how "blind" I get after playing, recording and mixing my tunes. I usually have to let them sit a day or two before I listen again and do the final touch. So I'm excited to hear your thoughts on it. Means a lot:)
The vocal skatting over the solo is something I found I was able to do some years ago. It's done in real time when I play the solo. And all sounds from the keyboards is midi and straight out of garageband. I do however usually alter them some by adding distortion or other effects to get the sound I want.
Thank you:)

You have a knack for some laid back tunes. This is a fine example of what your style is and it's blues. Nice job and thanks for posting. Big fan here.

Hey John, glad you liked it. Yeah I guess you're right about my style leaning towards blues. Actually I'm a member of a (sleeping) blues band called "Reptiles". We laid our axes to rest a couple of years ago, but I'm willing to put money on that we'll pick them up again one day... It runs in the blood...
Thanks for listening and commenting. Appreciated it:)

this reminds me of I Thanks You by ZZ Top. You got a really cool voice.
The instruments are all large and present and i love the vox scattin' along
with the guitar. Nice stuff!
thoddi
Hmm, yeah I can hear that now. It's the one guitar that has some of the same sound and plays a similar figure. Hope they don't sue me...;)
Thanks for your nice words:)

T, I'm sorry that I haven't commented before now. When I saw your
name amongst the many alerts in my box, I thought for sure that it
couldn't be true that you could have come up w/ a new tune so soon
since the last time that I had commented. I was thninking, "he puts out
really nice stuff, it's too soon for another one..."
Obviously, I was wrong... Another nice one Thoddi. You'd be a good
one to see live. Good live entertaiment quality in your music. You could
have my weekend dollars anytime. In fact, I'm wondering, what part of
the world do you reside...
This is good stuff and thanks for sharing it so "freely"... - Dion

The dance beat that comes to the foreground at the very end made me
listen to the song again to see if I could find it throughout. I love the
energetic rock feel, it reminds me of clapton, and your voice fits the
song wonderfully. A favorite.

The Eagles, Witchy Woman. At least the guitar in the beginning.
No matter: you're a great guitar player. This is some professional stuff,
and the whole track sounds great. The skat solo is especially appreciated.

This is great Thor! Reminds me of Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton or even Dr John. Major respect for programming the drums! I hate doing that. The production is awesome as well. It's hard to believe it's GB2! Excellent dude.
a broken record, but, dang... you got musical goods and you deliver them here. Great soulful, funky. You are, besides so good at guitar and vocals, a really good lyricist. I love the words you write. What kind of water are you drinking over there.... : )

Great rhythm guitar sound. Very creative production.
I am really digging the punchy organ stuff.
The vox /guitar (bensonesque)solo is way cool.
You utilize a real skill in your variety of sounds and vocals to creat a very hip sound.
