Description
Song about decisions. Lyrics written by a woman for a woman. I wrote the music and did the demo while in touch with my feminine side.

Lyrics
Here's that tug of war again between my head and my heart.
Between bouillabaisse and fish sticks. Between the stop and the start

I'm always dancing on a fine line on the tightrope of suspense
Between desire and destiny. Between soul and sense,
Painting and poetry. Between both sides of the fence.
Sometimes it makes my family tense.

Because if I pick the boy that daddy likes, what about the boy on the motorbike?
Or the one I met on a mountain hike? Oh daddy, all the boys look good to me.

And if I choose a good job that's right, can I still fly to Las Vegas tonight
And wear those pants that are too tight? Oh boss, you know you can count on me.

And if I move to a good cul de sac, canI still paint my bedroom black
Without you giving me too much flack? Hey son, you've got the best of me.

'Cause I don't wanna have to choose between what everybody says
Is the win and the loose between happy fantasies and the walking blues.
All those sides are mine. Truth sometimes comes in twos.

Here's that tug of war again between my head and my heart
Betweeen hamburger and prime rib, between the stop and the start
Between the stop and the start. Between the stop and the start.
Between the stop.

wow...
it must be cool to have the same name as George Michael, or does George
Michael have the same name as you? it's still not as cool as Michael Bolton
but still pretty cool. i love this song. the lyrics are just fantastic and your
delivery over those fresh chord changes is great.

thanks for sharing.

(i can't believe i just left George Michael a comment!)

wow...
That's why I put (USA) after my name so as to avoid the obvious confusion 'cause we resemble each other so much. ( 8>)

And I was George Michael way before he was so, yes, he stoled my name and besmirched it.

Glad you like the song, thanks.

I Don't Normally Listen to
songs whose lyrics include the word "bouillabaisse"... and who could
blame me? Maybe it's a woman thing. ;)

This has a nice, crisp folk/rock sound and a terrific theme. It reminds me
somewhat of Jonathan Edwards' peppy 70s hit, "Sunshine." My only
suggestion would be that it might benefit from a tempo change, perhaps
at the lyric, "And if I move to a good cul-de-sac..." and then slowly build
it back up for the finish, to make it a bit more interesting.

But cool as a straight-aheader, too. ;)
