I keep &mdash 02/05/06 - 10:20:45 AM
a mental inventory of my unforgettable dreams. I really enjoy listening to your playing, and this is no exception. Nice use of strings in the back there too. Very cool Bill! [ Reply to This ]
What to say to you anymore... &mdash 02/05/06 - 11:24:15 AM
Very nce T man - Ah, I really like the dissonant and playful little jig
there, bout 1/2 - Weird, it feels like a dream as I'm listening - So I get
that you just can play whatever you feel. Really I'm curious, is there any
type of playing or music that challenges you - Please don't say funk
and country... When I grow up, I'd really like to collab w/ you one day
mister - Now that would be a dream... Truly
Thanks - Cyd

Nice traveling music &mdash 02/05/06 - 12:27:37 PM
Bill, this is the type of music I would play while driving a long stretch of
road, day dreaming all the way, like heading west on I-80.
Fantastic!
God bless,
Rick

I really liked the tempo &mdash 02/05/06 - 12:45:46 PM
I liked the up tempo mood combined with the flowing strings. And, of
course, your impeccable fingerpicking style. I wasn't sure what that lower
pitched 'wow-ey' sound was, If that woudn't have been in there, i woudn't
have missed it. There were several times it distinctly reminded me of
'Classical Gas' by Mason Williams; the timbres of guitar backed by strings
really brought that to mind for me. I think it's great that you're using a
more varied assortment of software instruments to go along with your
guitar playing. [ Reply to This ]

I have another version of this tune without that lower end base wah sound. So
if you are anybody is interested. It should be active in a day or so depending
when Simon makes it go active.
Thanks for your input!

I hear echoes.... &mdash 02/05/06 - 01:17:19 PM
... of 'Classical Gas', as kristyjo says, and also of the old Leo Kottke
experiments with fingerstyle guitar and synthesizers, and I also hear
some echoes of my son's favorite, "Telephone and Rubber Band" from
Penguin Cafe Orchestra...
This really sounds like a tune, Bill. It can stand on its own, or someone
could sing over it, write words to it, play fiddle to it...
I actually like that "wah"-synth sound... Sounds both different from the
usual smooth pad and kind of pleasanlty retro...
Nice.

Thanks Ed, your reading my mind, I was wondering if people would take a
liking to it. But I do have one without that sound soon going active.
I'll have to check out "Telephone and Rubber Band" from
Penguin Cafe Orchestra...
Interesting!
Thanks Ed!

Dreamy and upbeat &mdash 02/05/06 - 02:06:24 PM
It does feel like a dream. The kind where you start to wake up and try
not too, but you can't, and you try to keep it going, but it gets away in
spite of trying to make it last. Or maybe I'm just weird. Very nice
melody, downloaded. :-) [ Reply to This ]
Another cracking ragtime tune... &mdash 02/08/06 - 01:20:29 PM
Well done Bill - a particularly nice tune. I wasn't sure on that low Jew's
harp effect at first but it kinda grew on me and I ended up liking it (if I
was to niggle I'd say it's probably a bit too far over on the left channel).
Anyroad, this is a damn fine tune and damn fine playin' to boot.

Amazing. Very talented. I love all the layers, and not just of the
instrumentation, but of the emotions as well. It's all there! [ Reply to This ]

you...excellent. Thanks for yet another pleasureable listening

Dreamy &mdash 02/10/06 - 09:05:50 AM
Beautiful tune and great performance.
The only thing I didn't like was that little jew harp effect (or whatever it
was :)) underneath it all. It kinda distracted me.
But otherwise a great job. [ Reply to This ]
A joy... &mdash 02/13/06 - 08:48:09 PM
..as always. Love the cinematic accompaniment. Makes it all the more moving. Is that a juice harp? Nothing can slow your bright talent:) Love the pic! [ Reply to This ]

Ya, tried to bring out the bass the best way I could, even tried taiking that sound
away. So this is about the best I could do for this one.

In a Good Sort of Way &mdash 11/28/06 - 10:44:47 PM
I first noticed this while I wuz trolling at the bottom of MacIdol, and I was aghast to see that it didn't get much attention there. I hold it to be some of your best work, so I'm glad to see that this crowd has given it more recognition. Nice tune. [ Reply to This ]
Thank Keith &mdash 11/29/06 - 01:09:31 AM
I kind of felt because of the nerdy synth sound that people would be stand offish but it's great to hear that people like it. I know it has something special that I loved doiing this and hearing it's outcome. [ Reply to This ]
