Keywords:
trepidation (2)
Description:
The last song I wrote by myself back in '97. It's been lyical collaberations ever since.

Done by The Puddle Jumpers, it a song about hypocracy, prejudice and self doubt.

Lyrics:
I'm looking at you looking at me. I see hatred in your eyes. What do you see...
Besides the clothes I wear and the color of my skin? You deal with what you see not what's within.

Throw down your hatred. Tear down the wall. All for one and one for all.

Disarm yourself. Cut the red wire. Put out the fuse.
Disarm yourself. Walk just a mile in another man's shoes.
Disarm yourself. Everything to gain. Nothing to lose.
Disarm yourself. Nobody's out to get you.

You witness to them. They don't listen to thee.
There's anger in your soul and that's all they see.
You quote a holy book through a devil's grin
And out of your mouth pops another sin

Throw down your anger. Tear down the wall. All for one and one for all.

Disarm yourself. Cut the red wire. Put out the fuse.
Disarm yourself. Walk just a mile in another man's shoes.
Disarm yourself. Everything to gain. Nothing to lose.
Disarm yourself. Nobody's out to get you.

Now if you think it through it all comes down to fear. There is no conspiracy here.
Beyond your book and inside your skin, new worlds await you without and within.

Lose your trepidation. Tear down the wall. All for one and one for all.

Disarm yourself. Cut the red wire. Put out the fuse.
Disarm yourself. Walk just a mile in another man's shoes.
Disarm yourself. Everything to gain. Nothing to lose.
Disarm yourself. Nobody's out to get you.

Very Tight &mdash 02/07/06 - 08:35:58 PM
How long had the Puddle Jumpers been playing together at this point? It's
very tight all the way around... great chops, harmonies, interplay, etc. I
particularly like strong melody-based material with good harmony work,
as is the case here.

It's too bad so much of the music biz has gone sour. This is far better
material and performance than a lot of the crap that got label support
during the past decade.

Maybe you guys weren't "tarty" enough for them. ;-)

<<..."How long had the Puddle Jumpers been playing together at this

3 years and we were recording our second CD

<<..."It's very tight all the way around... great chops, harmonies, interplay,

Our signature sound thanx.

<<..."It's too bad so much of the music biz has gone sour"...>>

*sigh* I'm hip. It's a sad day for true artists.

We felt we had an audience and a sound that was commercial enough. We
tried hard for 5 years...

Good one! &mdash 02/09/06 - 12:07:08 PM
Very cool sound! I love it! Also, there it is again, one of my favorite
elements in songs. The duality and conflict between the cheerful nature of
the music and the serious subject matter. Cheers!

Great folk-pop sound.... &mdash 02/09/06 - 07:27:48 PM
Reminiscent to these old ears of some ancient Stealer's Wheel stuff, even
hints in the Big Chorus of some Badfinger....

Great bass and drum propulsion, and the playing, groove, time, tightness
are all terrific.

I'll be checking out your stuff every time it arrives!

Thanx and glad you liked it.

Love all the bands mentioned and I'm sure I was influenced by each one of
them.

Great Track &mdash 02/10/06 - 08:27:40 PM
Wow - Very pro sounding. Vocal harmonies sound great - very tight.
This sounds like a well established group playing together for years.
Great song!

Disarming &mdash 02/12/06 - 05:19:01 PM
Often, songs of this nature sound cloying and preachy. I like the catchiness of the melody and rhythm which aids in "disarming" the listener into a thinking this were just a pop song, allowing the lyrics to hopefully sink in. Nice job.

I like the harmonies.

Moreover, lyrically, how more appropriate can you get about the state of affairs in the world and the U.S.

Welcome, wow really cool harmony. Lots of really good music.

This is one of the best group soft rock I've heard hear. That one for all
harmony is terrific!

Prog country rock &mdash 03/07/06 - 07:53:26 AM
Excellent use of organ and the use of acoustic mandolin. I dig the verse,
the use of harmonies, the whole feel. The chorus is a bit too "Pop" for my
ears, lacking the power the great verse set up; altho the piece definitely
holds together is more than delightful. I dig it.

Unreal &mdash 07/25/07 - 08:06:26 AM
I'll never understand how a song like this never gets splashed nationally. I can see people singing along with their radios to this as they drive.
