Lyrics
MAN OF MY DREAMS
Stacey K. Black

You might be the Man of My Dreams
but I don't want to sleep my life away.

You might be the Man of My Dreams
but I don't want to sleep my life away.

Are you in my dreams?
Are you in my dreams?

You've got the moves that turn me on
I like the way you look at me
I know you know the way you move me
deep inside my soul.

You might be the Man of My Dreams
but I don't want to sleep my life away.

You might be the Man of My Dreams
but I don't want to sleep my life away.

Are you in my dreams?
Are you in my dreams?

Turn around take a bow look me in the eye
make sure that you know what I want tonight.

Turn around take a bow look me in the eye
make sure that you know what I want tonight.

Turn around take a bow look me in the eye
make sure that you know what I want tonight.

I want you
(I thought you were gonna bite my neck)
I want you
(I thought you were gonna bite my neck)

You might be the Man of My Dreams
but I don't want to sleep my life away.

You might be the Man of My Dreams
but I don't want to sleep my life away.

Are you in my dreams?
Are you in my dreams?

You might be the Man of My Dreams
but I don't want to sleep my life away.

You might be the Man of My Dreams
but I don't want to sleep my life away.

Are you in my dreams?
Are you in my dreams?

Not my style... but
again you have composed a song that is interesting, capturing. Dang...
again such great vocals... performance... presence... this is just
a well put together song. Gotta say--- you have that something.

sounds like 8Os alright!
nice 8Os synth mixes very well with your voice, the only thing that bothered me (a little) is this GB loops i used to use (is that correct?) so many times till I just couldn't hear them anymore.... but oh well who cares! that was nice anyway :-)

Very '80's
My stomach hurts! I can't stop laughing at that "now stop it." Cracked me up!

Here's a little backstory if you have time to read it. I'll make it quick.

New Year's Eve, 2005. I was in charge of the music. I made 11 80's dance
music compilation CD's with no breaks in between songs, on all Garage Band.
And, as an experiment, I wanted to see if I could write a song that would
"pass." I figured it I slipped it in the mix, and nobody noticed, then I would
succeed. Well, the dancers didn't even miss a twitch. They just kept dancing
as if "Man" was just another cheesy 80's dance tune. I was very happy, and I
continued to dance like Molly Ringwald in The Breakfast Club. Happy New
Year!

Okay, now I'll stop.
Love that!

the "pass" test
hilarious - i am a huge fan of slipping in originals into electronica mixes
as well...

this one definitely flies - again you're proving to be a great talent.

i'm going to compose a back beat for you - i might base it on one of your
originals, but i think proprietary beats would sound cool with your vox
and direction.

the "pass" test
Hey thanks so much! I'd love to hear anything you come up with and I'll try to do
it jsutice.

Oh, I'm in charge of the music for another party, and... you guessed it. I have a
couple songs to slip in now. I love doing that!

Thanks again,
Stacey

Interesting
...but I like your more introspective songs better. But I understand the desire to try new things. Kudos to your for that. Given the humorous backstory I think I can forgive you for this foray into the forbidden world of 80's dance. But do please, stop it!

The 80s RULE!
I'm very much an 80s junkie, so I really loved this one. Hate I missed it when it first came around, but a friend just pointed out to me. Love it. Lots of fun.

Hey
i love 80's synths - I LOVE THE LOW DISTORTED SOUNDS near the end of ther song. It is quite cheey, and the main synths should be replaced with something crunchier with more texture. If this song had more texture and more instruments itnwould sound amazing, so i dont think you should stop with this sound because it does quite suit you. I love at the end, the change of drumbeat - that should be kept throughout the WHOLE song lol and also the synths that play along with this new drumbeat!
