Description
This is a little ditty that I recorded as a lark. It was purely meant as a joke. Back in the 90's I used to like to drink a lot of chocolate milk. When I'd go make my chocolate milk, I'd sing a little made up chocolate milk song. I think that the tune may have been a rip off from Mystery Science Theater 3000, when the cast would sing their little song about director Sandy Frank. Anyway..... I would just sing "Chocolate Milk, Chocolate Milk....etc etc". My wife convinced me to record it. It's only a minute long, and the lyirics are nothing. However, in 1999 somehow a copy of this song started floating around the network at my work, and I was known by all of my co-workers as having done the Chocolate Milk song. So in that regard, this is probably my most famous song... even if it is the dumbest.

A fine line between dumb and, eh, dumber
But seriously....

(I thought I left a comment on this song. This site is broken!)

This is seriously silly and seriously funny. Thanks for sharing it.

I once read an interview with Brian May of Queen. He stated that he
wanted to be remembered (or may be: would most likely be remembered)
for "We Will Rock You". The printed interview noted that May burst out in
laughing after giving this answer....

BUT ... the big question is: when he burst out laughing, did chocolate milk come out of Brian May's nose?

About the song - I think it's great that you used the description to set up the recording. The listener's expectations have been well managed! The song is no epic - a handful of words and even fewer chords. Still - it's tough to fight the image of someone preparing their favorite drink while singing along. There is an excitement and anticipation that is undeniable. The recording and tone of the guitar is great. The vocals may be a touch low and the fade is a bit lengthy, but these are nits that don't need pickin', really.

And, as a mildly related aside - I love chocolate milk, too.

Yeah.... it was only meant as a joke song. I guess I've always been a little goofy that way. I don't know anyone else who would happily dance around and sing "Chocolate Milk" when making themselves some chocolate milk. And who doesn't like chocolate milk? But I am a firm believer in the Hershey's syrup method. No powders or pre-mades for me. Just good old fashioned chocolate syrup.
As another funny aside..... and I hesitate writting this because I don't want to offend anyone.... but in early 2003 (back when i was still married), I was bopping along to the bedroom with a glass of chocolate milk. And I was happily humming away saying something like "Mmmm Mmmm I got's me some chocolate milk! Yay!"
Well.... my wife was in the bedroom breast pumping (we had a small baby at the time). And it struck me as funny that I was coming in with a glass of chocolate milk just as she was pumping out her milk. Well.... and here's the part I hope does not offend anyone but it was totally said in jest. I said "Mmmm Mmmm. Chocolate Milk. You know, this is what the black babys drink". And I was sort of expecting a laugh or a "Shut up!" from my wife. But instead, I got this serious blank stare from her as she very seriously said.... "Really?"
Well her naive reaction was just the funniest thing I'd ever seen. All I could do from busting up laughing was to very seriously reply... "No Honey. Not really..." :)
