Nice and Honest
This was a nice, honest, and kind song, if not the most exciting thing that ever heard. The lyrics were extremely straight forward but not quite poetic. I can definitely relate to the husband and father sentiments and they almost brought a tear to my eye even if the song itself as a whole didn't quite excite me.

Earnest
The song seems to have an arc that goes from the regrets to the joys of
your place in life at that time, which to me is its saving grace. It sounds
like a very personal document, and I normally have a hard time listening
to something this earnest, but the way it ends nicely ties up the whole
story. Cool. And kudos for posting it in the first place. I could never do
that.

Sweet song
I really like this. I like the way you structured the lyrics, unfolding the
picture. Very touching. Very nicely performed too. The simple
arrangement sounds really nice. Decent mix/recording. I'd like to hear
more variation in the song though, some layering and alternative
deliveries in the vocals. Maybe bring in another element to the later
verses to keep it growing a little. Perhaps some selective harmonies here
and there. Overall, I think you have a great tune here; it just needs a little
more development to keep it fresh and to help frame the lyrics. Perhaps
even come up with a one-time bridge that breaks the pattern for a time
before returning to the pattern structure.
