Description
I wrote and recorded this song in October 1995. The story is that a friend of mind had an older brother that tried to kill himself. The older brother called the younger brother but the younger brother was too tired to pick up the phone and instead let the answering machine pick it up. The next morning he listened to the message and heard his brother saying that this was probably the last he'd ever hear from him, and that he was commiting suicide by trying to inhale chlorine and bleach in an enclosed room. Well.... the younger brother was horrified, and called his brother back. His brother was still alive. But the younger brother was pretty shaken up by it. When he told me the story the next day he kept saying that it was hard to say.
At the end of the song I mention the words "Blue Jay Way". Jay was the name of the older brother. And I guess I was paying homage to the Bealtes song called Blue Jay Way.
