Description:
Sometimes the mind recieves more of a workout worrying about something than if you jogged a marathon !

I made this picture thinking what a lucky guy. He has a girfriend who cares about him. I was in a combat zone for 258 days and had no girlfriend or a wife at the time. A pretty lonely feeling.
This tune is not intended to be protest music. But expressing more of a romantic longing feeling.

Longing &mdash 02/19/06 - 03:25:51 PM
Thank you for posting, but much more, THANK YOU for serving. I travel quite a bit, and see many troops on the way out, on the way in, young, older.... I take every opportunity to shake their hand and express my thanks. Most express THEIR gratitude in return, such a small return for their sacrifice. I am not looking for a badge here, just stating this that I feel and for those I fly my flag for 24 hrs./day in rememberance of... -Harold

Hauntingly beautiful... &mdash 02/19/06 - 04:32:19 PM
and evocative. Effective use of strings to support virtuoso guitar playing.
It fully succeeds at conveying that "romantic longing feeling." Thanks for
this one.

You sure can pick! &mdash 02/19/06 - 07:11:46 PM
All the notes and thoughts running around in our heads... This song
reminds me of hurry more thsn worry, because it is fast paced bu not
aimless, like worry is. What a guitarist you are, Bill! Thank you for
sharing your songs with us. Downloaded.

Wow! &mdash 02/19/06 - 09:59:16 PM
You have no formal training? ... You would never know listening to this it
is wonderful. I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed it! Fabulous .. Bravo!!!

Sweet One &mdash 02/19/06 - 11:53:20 PM
A very effective use of the strings combined with the usual tiler
precision and melodic flash equals another great recording!

The tune is great.... &mdash 02/20/06 - 07:23:31 AM
...which is something that guitar players can sometimes forget... Your
attack and time on this is really good, and a little different from your
usual style, and I like it. Gives it a bit of a baroque/Renaissance feel.
Sort of slightly lute-ish. The recording is clear, the reverb nice, and the
strings work well.

Bill, it amazes me that, several times a week, I open up my mail to see
that you have posted another tune. And they sound worked out,
rehearsed, well recorded, and like you could play them again. AND, you
have a whole business to run... 'Prolific' just doesn't do you justice...

Ed

The tune is great.... &mdash 02/21/06 - 06:29:12 AM
Thanks ed,

Ya, running a business and playing guitar really fit in for me because tile is so
physical and music is so music like candy for the ears.

For me they kind of counter balance. But burning a candle on both ends can
gave you insomnia. I was on sleeping pills for a year because I threw my system
out of wack by staying up too late with the computer and music. But I realized
that sleeping pills really didn't help me much. Just make you kind of dopey. Not
sure if I spelled that right.

I know &mdash 02/20/06 - 10:21:38 AM
Hi Bill, I was newly married when I was in the combat zone in Nam. It was
pretty lonely also.

I love the harmony with the strings that you created. How you come up
with such beautiful music while working full time can only be explained
by innate artistry.

God bless,

Rick

Well represented emotion &mdash 02/20/06 - 11:01:03 AM
I have friends and family who have served in peacetime and various
wars around the world.

Whether you agree or disagree with war, it doesn't change how you feel
when a loved one is away and in potential danger!

I like the suggestion of anxious movement of time in your picking. It is
almost unsettling.

Well represented emotion &mdash 02/21/06 - 06:21:24 AM
Thanks DU

I think added orchestration in the backround gave it a more warmer approach,
maybe settle the guitar a bit to the ears. Maybe to counter balance the guitar. As
a male approach to a female approach.

Or maybe I'm getting too deep for my own good:)

Wishful Pace? &mdash 02/21/06 - 09:59:20 AM
Nice work, Bill.

It seems to me to portray a sense of anxiousness to fast-forward time.
For those who find themselves in the circumstance you describe, I'm sure
it is a natural feeling... to get through it and get back to the people they
love. That never seems to happen fast enough.

Wishful Pace? &mdash 02/21/06 - 03:11:05 PM
True, I remember when I was in a war zone for 358 days. It was one of my most
happiest moments counting the days until I get back to the states.

Wow T &mdash 02/21/06 - 04:14:40 PM
I think that this one has become my favorite of yours. Well, this
happens alot w/ you. The mix of DL's has quickly become, TheTiler and
some other folks... No offense to anyone, of course. It's just that Bill is
certainly more present than most. No pun intended. And I still can't get
over how different each TT tune is from the others. This fascinates
me...

Well done T. And thanks for another excellent submission. D

a really good job of blending the loops to say what you wanted to say
without lyrics. It still said it. Congrats....

Thanks for stopping by. The music backround really isn't loops. But I did work
with the Jam pack sounds.
Thanks for posting.

Great work, once again. You have such a distinct sound to all of your
tracks and such a distinct sound between all of your tracks. Not
something everybody can do...

Great!
