Description:
I wrote this instrumental piece for a friend's wedding processional. She entered when the tempo augments toward the end and the chimes kick in. I liked it so much I used it for a Merlyn film score later on. In this synth version, I use old gear synths (Proteus II, Roland Super JV) with Jam Pack strings and recorded myself on hand percussion (djembe, tambourine). Artwork is "Lady of the Lake" by Al Wagner.
Lyrics:
You may need to turn up the volume, since the track is not compressed.
Hardware:
G4; Emu Proteus I & II; Roland Super JV; Wavestation; REMO Djembe.

What dreams are made of... &mdash 05/24/04 - 02:06:14 PM
Nothing I can say can describe this song's energy. You'll all have to feel it for yourselves. Tobin, you've done it again! Very powerful ending! [ Reply to This ]
Amazing &mdash 05/24/04 - 03:25:56 PM
This is one of the best pieces you have done. I am always amazed at the masterful complexity, yet the sheer simplicity, and elegance that your music combines. This one has earned my highest rating ever for any song, 9's across the board. This is just wonderfully done, masterfully played, and a joy to listen to! Fantastic! [ Reply to This ]

Tobin, I think you could do some excellent work for Sci Fi
movies and National Geographic films. You have a very
unique and refreshing style, and your glass-half-full
personality shines through in your music. [ Reply to This ]

This is a wonderful orchestral piece. The short recurring
theme, dovetailing with itself in various ways, reminds me
very much of Aaron Copland's music. The open harmonies
also remind me of him, and the ending section sounds
like "variations on a Shaker melody".
It's very "American" sounding, and could be excellent
background music to a historical documentary.

You know what would be great? If you play real harp and french horn to it!
