Description:
Loss and love

Lyrics:
You say I'm the answer to your prayers for love.
That we were meant and I was sent from heaven up above.
You say you knew when your eyes looked into mine. I was the one you'd want until the end of time.
You wouldn't lie to an angel would ya. You couldn't do something like that could ya?
You know if you do say things untru I might fly away.
You know an angel can see right thfough ya.
When they're bringin some heaven to ya.
So mind what you say. You don't meet an angel every day.
Angels can be either good or bad to you. They can bring you happiness or make you sad and blue. It's very seldom they appear into your life so when they do be sure you always treat em right.
You wouldn't to an angel would ya? You couldn't do something like that could ya? You know if you do say things untrue I might fly away.
An angel can see right through ya when they're bringin some heaven to ya so mind what you say you don't meet an angel every day. So mind what you say you don't meet an angel every day.

A lovely song &mdash 02/23/06 - 04:22:00 AM
A lovely song. I like it a lot!

I like your voice a lot. Clear and soft at the same time! And a very nice
tune!

Would be interesting to know more about how you made it. Sounds like
you've had a lot of backup from live instruments... Did you write the song
yourself... etc...

Nice Tune &mdash 02/24/06 - 02:15:15 PM
I listened to all four songs you posted and this is my favorite. I think this acoustic ballad suits your voice. Your not a belter but you have a pretty voice. I would like to here you with just an acoustic guitar backing you. This was obviously done in a studio with professional sudio musicians. Not the amatures that most of here are lol. Do you write your own songs? There are some really good musicians here in mac jams you should collaborate with one on a tune. I'm more of a rock and blues player myself, but I enjoy all genres of music.

Nice Tune &mdash 02/25/06 - 12:13:08 PM
That is what is wierd about my voice. I kind of morph it into what is needed. I'm lookin at other music to show off my range and everything because none of this music does that. I sing lightly when it calls for it but can also belt those tunes out if needed. Ex: Independance Day, Heartbreaker. I feel like a chamilian? sometimes. lol

If these are all real instruments...I am greatly impressed! Wow...this has to be the cleanest most professional song I've heard on here. Very well done! Did you record this in a professional studio or at home?

A good song by a good singer &mdash 08/19/07 - 06:14:57 PM
I love the lyrics, the feel of the song and you delivery of it.

I'm not crazy about the mix though. I think maybe you voice is a little too out front and needs just a touch of reverb and maybe some compression to add a little fullness. Also the harmony parts are a little too loud for my taste. I know this because I have been guilty of the same on some of my own mixes and it's only later that I figure it out. Usually much later unfortunately.

Please take these thoughts in the way they are intended, as a way to help make a beautiful song even better.

This song has a future that's bright.

Thanks for listening.

Ed

I have to say, I tend to critique on ... well ... on the critical side! Blame it on my passion for country music! That being said, here we go:

I really, really like this song! "You wouldn't lie to an Angel, would ya?" Now THAT'S painting a picture! That's saying something we all can relate to in a way we've never quite thought of ... and that's the secret to great songwriting, isn't it?

The melody is not your standard, predictable country format and yet (or for this very reason) it works very well. Reminds me of some of the 80's classics by Sylvia (and that's saying something!).

May be "dated" in Nashville's eyes (don't get me started on that subject!), but that is only my opinion and is more a disparaging comment on Nashville than anything to do with this song.

I thought the singing was fantastic, writing was fantastic, melody was fantastic!

Very well done!
