Description
I wrote this about two years ago and recorded it in GarageBand. Today I re-recorded it in Pro Tools.

I tried vocals but they were pretty bad. Maybe I will give it another shot later, but if anyone wants to collaborate I am open to it. I have lyrics for most of the song just not the chorus.

Lyrics
[Verse 1]
I sometimes hate the city
I see people walking by
But I never know their names
Don't want to know their names
I smile as I greet them
But I don’t want to meet them
Some things may never change
And I will never change

[Pre chorus]
And you don’t know what it's like to be me
And you don’t realize who it is when you see me

[Chorus]
(no lyrics)

[Verse 2]
I see the look in your eyes
I admire, the way you think of me
But I don't feel the same
I'll never feel the same
There is a time once in a while
When I see the face behind the smile
And that's what makes it strange
And I never want to change

[Pre chorus]
And you don’t know what it's like to be me
(I don't let it show)
And you don’t realize who it is when you see me
(and you will never know)

[Chorus]
(no lyrics)

[Bridge]
Some people are living this life with their eyes shut
(Maybe)
I should look at life through their eyes but I won’t budge
Baby!

[Coda]
(no lyrics)

great start
hey this sounds cool...great guitars, nice groove...never sell yourself short vocally, no one is a good judge of their own voice. People seem pretty relaxed on vocal critiques. I like the words, practice the song vocally many many times, until you get down. record yourself singing. it wil be more rewarding for you.
I like your tune.

catchy
record the vocals every take and eventually you'll get it. vocals are my trouble too. the song seems pretty catchy instrumentally. perhaps post a forum looking for a collab. the hook reminds me of ac/dc a little. but not as screechy. like stated this is a great start the instrumental is fine, and im sure once you get the vocals this will be a great catchy tune.

thanks for the feedback
I have a couple of takes with vocals, but I either have the wrong voice for the song or I am using the wrong style for the vocals. I am going to try a few more takes before I throw the towel in and solicit for singers to collaborate with.

Thanks for the feedback though, it's encouraging!

I listen to just about everything, but prefer straight-up rock, be it classic, bluesy, alternative, or punk. GarageBand 1.0 got me interested in home recording.... [see more]
