Written with my friend Jeff Dobberpuhl who is a guitarist & keyboard player in Phoenix, AZ. Check out his bands Psycho Square Dance and Chalk Outlines if you live near enough to PHX to do it. Basically this one's kinda in Lucinda / Steve Earle territory, so if that's your thang, here's my thang... :)

This song reminds me of Rem. Both in musical style and in vocals, ecpecially when the harmonyvocals kick in at the chorus. You get an amazing sound from those acoustic guitars, i didnt know that was possible! As said before, the vocals are very good and the songwriting is also excellent! good work!

I find the lyric "the wrong side of sunrise" to be quite powerful. I wish it
were repeated a few more times either in a verse or on the outro. Great
song as is . btw Lucinda Williams is one of my favorites, if that is the
Lucinda that you are refering to. Cheers.

Thanks for sayin'! I love the music of Ms. WIlliams -- I've seen her live maybe 3
times over the course of the last few years. I appreciate your comments about
repeating the refrain/title/tagline. I tend not to repeat things like that, because
of my own way of listening (attention span)... I generally have a rule that I don't
repeat things more than twice in my songs -- which means that I have a lot of
two minute songs :) That's just me, though... I'm sure I can think of a million
tunes I like that repeat the heck out of a hook or a lyric, I just early on schooled
myself out of doing it.

Glad you liked the tune!

In the interest of honesty, I have to say that the drums are apple loops and the bass is midi, but I did find them appropriate for the song. I own an electric and an acoustic guitar bass, but the midi part seemed a little cleaner and it does have some impact.
