Description:
You tell me.

Lyrics:
You and Me.

Maybe were wasting time, everything I knew was all a lie

And if I close my eyes everything I ever wanted could be mine

Maybe it was you and me that fell right down that hole
Maybe we were never meant to walk right down that road

And there’ll be a place in time
When it all will come down and you’ll standalone
I had no way to find
Everyone I ever knew was on their own

Maybe it was you and me that fell right down that hole
Maybe we were never meant to walk right down that road

Baby it was you and me.

Great songwriting. Really like the guitar parts and the whole fit finish. The
piano at the end is a nice touch.

Thank you so much!
This song was a treat for me to write (vocals) this is a recording project and has been a wonderful rollercoaster.
The main writing team is J Frazier and M, Iannucci this man is the pivotal piece in if. Most of the time I get a scratch idea with lots of room for change to write the vocals and the song evolution continues from there.
The backing band will also be going live with us when the time comes

If you haven’t noticed the lyrics are from a very painful place (we don’t write happy) happy is not real, life is full of ups and downs and truthfully we have both been through tons of shit, I have 13 years of stories in my head and that should total about 4 CDs full of songs.

Without Mark this would not be possible and my head would explode!

Thank you all for the commits keep rocking and support independent music please otherwise we end up with more churned out crap!

Please visit ifmusiconline.com the CD will be up for sale in about a month and I promise if you buy one and are a member of Mac jams you will get a free download of 6 more songs were hoping to give you more but time will tell.

I bet you Britney Spears wouldn’t give you 6 songs free!

We hail you!

Great tune. Really superb vocals. The guitar lead really kicks it up a
notch. The piano was a welcome shift also. Excellent writing and
phrasing. Welcome to MacJams. Thanks for sharing your music here.

Hi Jhon. I promised you I'd give this a listen when you posted it. Here I am. I really liked this song. The arrangement was great. the emotions conveyed were really well matched by the instrumentation.

What about letting us read the lyrics. I for one would love that.

Cheers!

Aha! You picked it when Mark played the guitar part to me, I said wow it feels like a bond song and a few days later we noticed that the bond song of done on the same guitar I think it was a 68 Stratocaster Mark would know I will ask and get back to you on this one.

Nice dreamy sound &mdash 03/01/06 - 02:06:27 PM
I love the nice lush sound, especially once the piano comes in. Nice, laid
back rhythm, cool guitar. I like the sound of your vocals, though I think
they could be brought out a little. They tend to get lost in the mix. I think
backing off on the vocals effects just a tad might help bring them out as
well. Really like the tune.

Well noted on the vocal, thanks for the commit I really like it when people find something that could be improved and just don’t say “oh good”

I know this is bad but I love most of my stuff I know we all love our stuff but sometimes I get lost in the song and think “wow that’s me!” I know that sounds bad but I cant help it.

Take care

This is a terrific song. Good mix and out-freaking-standing vocals. Very
strong songwriting. I listened on flat response headphones and thought
the vocal mix sounded a bit muddy in spots... almost like it's slightly
distorted. Didn't bother me enough to stop me from downloading,
though!

Excellent performances- sweet guitar solo and the piano sounded great!
Looking forward to hearing more from you.

Thank you very much for the response and if you want you can listen to a few other things I have done in the past the first would be listed under taylor123 there are three different songs on there and the other under Legato “don’t walk away” but the music was produced by someone that’s “OUTSIDE” this project one of the first things I did on my 2004 “come back to music because your ex-wife is a cunt tour” the legato project never saw the light of day 1 song and one gig with four songs played live, all because someone dropped the ball “big time” but I’m not bitter it was just a waist of time.
Thanks “PAT, ART & ALBERTO”. LOL

Oh and if I didn’t mention it the three songs under taylor123 were demos we didn’t want to use but wanted to get some response writing for a year can be a downer because there is no response from the public like there would be if you were playing live.
Take care.

This is a sweet number! My gut reaction was to think this had a very early
90s flair. Catherine Wheel fans? Even Rob Dickenson's new stuff is similar.
Your vocals are outstanding; just lovely amounts of lifts and swells. I
agree about the piano - it's beautifully and tenderly played. Just the right
seasoning in here. Best of luck to you, Jhon & band!

Thank you so much and coming from you this is a real compliment you’re the tops around here (are you going to put a CD out?) and if I haven’t said it more than a few times you’re a knockout! What a smile! I have a thing for redheads Grrrrrr.
On the collaboration, I remember telling Pat I would like to do something like that with you but didn’t know if you would be down with it, I think he laughed it off, I would love to try that and see what happens.

So if I ever go to England you have to show me around, that would be so cool.

No 2006 tour date as of yet and truthfully we don’t know when as of yet, now the site yes it is a little bleak were not sure what to do at this point but are prying to incorporate audio samples and more video (I have about 20 hours of studio stuff some acoustic live stuff and another video for the song “Nothing” from the new CD but we decided not to release it for now (but it looked really good) we’re hoping to release a DVD after the CD comes out, but that’s about 30 hours of editing and we don’t have the time to get it done but hopefully soon.
And no were not famous yet, lol but with a little help from our friends we hope to claim some stake in the business again.

Sorry it took so long to get back to you. Jhon & I have been buried. Thanks for the kind words. The bass is actually a Yamaha RGX775 5-String played through a Vox Tonelab. We built the program, it was not from the factory. It's not overly effected, just a good tube pre with some compression and that was it. Glad you liked it.

Very good playing and singing. Music isn't the style I normally listen to,
but I can tell that what you've done here has been done well.
One quibble - the background vocal on the chorus seems as though it's
almost not there and seems only to have been placed in the left channel -
to my ears, it kind of unbalances the mix.

Excellent Production &mdash 03/03/06 - 04:04:35 PM
Thanks for the kind words. Yeah... I went a little "George Martin" with the panning but it was mixed down through the monitors and not with headphones. I was trying to get distance from the lead vocal to the backups. You are right, it's kind of creepy in the phones... but we like it crEEpy.

Really smooth tune. I love how the guitar subdues and reappears between the vocals. It's that type of attention to detail that marks a well-crafted song. The solos are tasteful and the effects are not overkill. Excellent songwriting here, excellent performance and production, and you should be very proud. Do you have distribution and promotion? You're from CA? Where do you play live?

Wow, thanks. If you don't have a good song, all the chops & recording gear won't do shite. Jhon writes great songs and we all have chemistry. We are in California, and we are working at this time at being our own label. We have not played live in our current arrangement.

Very nice! &mdash 03/05/06 - 05:59:26 AM
Great vocals and I really liked the guitar licks and the whole dreamy,
blurry, soaring feel of the whole piece. The piano was a great touch, as
well.
The only thing that kinda bothered me was the drum beat. Correct me if
I'm wrong, but it sounds like you used the same beat throughout the
entire song. If you'd just break it up a little bit in places - with a ride
cymbal every now and then, not to mention a crash cymbal - then I'm
instantly a fan!
Great work, nonetheless!

Very nice! &mdash 03/05/06 - 08:48:51 AM
Thanks. It's funny that you are the first one to notice that. We laid down the drum bed first and wrote the song around it and planned to have the rides & crashes (which were on other tracks) mixed in later. The drums are real, I know they sound a little canned but they are not. As the song progressed it had an erie groove to it and it kind of stayed like that. I tried for 2 weeks to add the fills and cymbals in but it always sounded cheesey. If you hear the rest of our stuff eventually you will see I am all about the drums when I mix. I would hang more on MacJams but I would get my hand slapped.... gotsta paid da bills! I would get lost in this song when I listened to it (mixing & mastering for a week!) and the drums just became a rythem bed. But I though it worked. Thanks for asking. - - - Mark

Floating regret &mdash 03/07/06 - 10:16:05 AM
My favorite part, aside from the over-all mood you expertly produce, is
the Bruce Hornsby piano moment that moves into the really nice guitar
break. Very nice use of ethereal guitars to both drive and float the piece,
reinforcing your concept of dreamy regret. The extreme panning of the
female voice right at the end, lopsided and unexpected, like a memory in
one ear, nice touch. Excellent track.

Floating regret &mdash 03/07/06 - 10:43:59 AM
Thanks very much for the Kudos. I am first and foremost the guitarist but the piano lead section was sort of new frontier for us. I usually add atmosphere with the keys in our songs but never lead. We were trying to figure out what we were going to do in that section and I just started banging the keys in a stereo piano patch. It actually worked because the song is about a relationship gone sour (how unusual?) The piano is the great begining and the guitar is the wreckage that comes later. The video we are shooting at this time represents that with a visual, I am really excited about it. Thanks also for the production props, I think the key is keeping everything simple. This song was mixed entirely through monitors so I never really noticed how drasticaly I panned the "if Girls" in the end. I enjoy hearing from people like yourself because you seem to really dig into the song. Jhon is a great vocalist and storyteller, he makes my job easy. - - Mark

Loved it man... way to go. the song structure is nice and I like the strings. You have a very nice voice. Maybe the vocals are a bit too much in the mix because it's hard to understand the lyrics. Other than that A . The break into the piano piece is right on and really builds up to the lead. A lot of FEEL.

Thanks for sharing,

Hey Dude, how many times can you make a new logon name and trash us. It's pretty sad and pathetic. I have an idea.. why don't you try some Slim Fast instead of the Budweiser. That way you can stay sober and stop spewing your venom like a coward under fake names. Maybe if you stop being a negative bitter hack you might get creative and write something that doesn't suck. Maybe you need some music lessons?

Nice response, i just think its about time someone here tells you what a bad clone of a song this is, it sounds like every other bad moody pop/rock band from the 80's early 90's, its amazing how defensive you've gotten about my comments, must be some truth in my obbservations. Oh and also ifmusiconline.com is that your website? You might want to change the you're to your, i hope whoever wrote that doesnt write your songs too, and the guitar player in the video.. nice video its not hard to pick out who the IF people are the drummer looks like hes 12 and the singer and guitar player are old doods i would recommend a tupee or rogaine... You know part of being an artist is taking critisim and learning from it, not getting pissed when people give it.

By the way, MacJams is for "Music Makers" last time I looked neither of your coward-ass logons had any songs???? Let me hear your stuff Mr. Music! You had a better sense of humor when your logon was "duranduransucks" ... what do you think we are stupid? Nobody has looked at this song for 9 months and is buried in the MacJams archives, you had to be looking for it. Get a life! So let's hear your stuff Liberace... could you teach me how to play like you?
