Description
This was written while I was in college at East Carolina University's School of Music. This is a live performance of this work at my senior recital. It is by far my favorite work from my college career. The vocal octet performs it fantastically. This is fairly long, so beware.

While this wasn't technically recorded on a Mac, it was composed on one using Finale, and was mastered on a Mac using SoundEdit16.

Beautifully done.
This is a magnificent musical interpretation of Genesis 6. I've always been
fascinated by this passage. Some years ago I wrote a piece folky based on
it. Perhaps someday I'll record it. Anyway, I deeply appreciate your posting
of this. Inspiring (even timely!).

Beautifully done.
Thanks so much for your kind comments. This is only my second post here, and this is my first truly positive comment. I too have always found this passage very interesting and peculiar, with its reference to the sons of god having children with the daughters of men. And who were the Nephilim? Google it and you'll get all sorts of theories!

Thanks again for listening! I'm off to listen to some of your work!

very interesting
and dense. I like it, even though it didn't speak to my soul. Did really like the Nephilim section. I'm interested to hear mor from you.

very interesting
Thanks, ChrisSly,

I know what you mean about 'speaking to your soul'. I can't say that most of this really does that for me either. It was a piece written in college, and as such, I really felt pressed to experiment with different tonalities and methods of composition. Oddly enough, Composition From the Soul 101 wasn't offered at ECU :)

So if the music seems to sound academic at times it's because, well, it is. However, of all my college pieces this one reflects more soul than any of the others. To me, the ending 'and Noah' part, actually does speak to my soul. But that's just MHO.

Thanks for the encouragement, and I will definitely be posting more soon.

Outstanding
I think you did a great job. I love to hear songs with powerful vocals and arrangments. I hope you got an "A".

inspiring
It staggers me the breadth of work on this site .... to have written and performed a piece such as this is, well, unthinkable to me ... you're working on a different plain. Beautifuly recorded and reproduced.

Simply stunning, Tim

Wow,
thanks man. I've never had someone tell me that I was working on another plain before! If only I were! Maybe that plain would pay better than this one! ;)

Thanks for the comment. I know I have just a couple of pieces here so far. But I have recently and finally figured out how to get a good direct sound from my guitar amp, so I look to be come a regular contributor.

I have VERY eclectic tastes in music so expect all sorts of different things, from classical, to ambient, to heavy to folk.

I'm going to check out your stuff right now.
