Betsy Is Bad &mdash 03/11/06 - 08:00:53 PM
This song really let's us hear that sweet guitar tone! Your Santa Cruz is
sounding extremely nice here. From the slow Granada opening to the
more flowing second part and then back to a slower tempo there are
ample opportunities for us to hear the deep bass and the ringing
treble.

This piece dedicated to Andrew Segovia. The reason for that is that I had a very
special, special dream of him and want to dedicate this piece to his type of
masterery Of ourse to himself who is dedicated follower of true beauty in
music.

Thanks much for stopping by and commenting!

the finest guitar work I've heard on Macjams. I used to have some Segovia
on vinyl. It's fitting for you to dedicate this to him. Great comp and
palying Bill. I'm awed.

Segovia in the last few months has really mean't more to be than ever before.
My wife and I did see him in person years ago. True to his way of performing he
did have on that famous black and whilte classical look about him. Very radiant,
classical person he is. Segovia was extremely dedicated to the classics for sure.

Thanks so much for commenting about Andre Segovia!

dance you have here Bill. Just a wonderful piece of music to listen to
and of course t add to my library. Imagine how good you would be if
you didn't have to stick your hands in portland and lime every week?
Great composing and playing.

Elegant golden guitar.. &mdash 03/12/06 - 12:40:03 PM
Or having to do bids as well. I was traveling to San Francisco to do a bid and on
the other side of highway 101 was the worst accident I can remember I think it
involved 38 cars. Terrible, glad I was going to work and not coming home.

Thanks much for stoppin by Dadai!

Fantastic playing and composing &mdash 03/13/06 - 09:14:27 AM
This is possibly the most captivating thing I've ever heard on Mac Jams. I
only wish you could get rid of the static, but I know that's hard with
garageband. Your playing, however, is nearly flawless and the piece itself,
unlike many solo guitar pieces, is very cohesive. I was interested for the
entire piece and the flow and direction of ideas and sounds made perfect
musical sense. I thoroughly enjoyed this work.

Those fingers of yours... &mdash 03/13/06 - 03:28:18 PM
.. which during day time belongs on a tilers hands, magically turns into the hands of a great artist with such a tender approach to Betsy's strings.

Wonderful composition. Your timing is good, which keeps me interested through the tune. I like how you vary the intensity and also how elegant you move around the frets.

Another great tune from you:)

Rather lovely &mdash 03/14/06 - 07:09:33 AM
Very delicate playing, sensuous and somewhat melancholy in tone - your
dancer seems to be dancing for themself instead of an audience in this
piece.

Exceptionally fine and subtle playing - thank you Bill.

No flappers here. &mdash 03/14/06 - 10:49:58 AM
The title of the song led me to expect a whole ragtime thing so I wasn't prepared for this beautiful soulful piece. The storytelling in the music is incredibly moving -- and the music, as always, is perfect. One of your best.

Listening... &mdash 03/15/06 - 02:31:48 AM
My soul was especially captivated by this piece...

Typically when I arrive to your page for a listen, I am somehow
instructed to be still and be more quite... In fact, this instructon has
been more like a 'command'... And this brings us to the consistant
nature of your performances...

Thank you for that, Bill - Dion

I have noted your invitation while responding to my last comment on
your song. I accept, and I would be than delighted. We can talk more
on this at some point later...

Beautiful composition, very enjoyable, thank you. it's interesting to see
you've been working on Andres Segovia but also some Mc Laughlin, so
my question is where Paco de Lucia ! Thanks again.

Billl, another beautifully played and flawlessly considered piece. The
(almost) constant hiss is a bit disappointing, as your productions are
usually much cleaner than this, but it in no way detracts from your
mastery of your instrument and the nuances of emotion in every note.
It's hard to imagine you are not doing this professionally - where do
you find the time to practise?! Regards to Betsy.
Superb!

Thanks for the critique.

Ya I got off early from a stall shower pan tear out and you wouldn't believe
how the previous installer butchered the job! "The pan was not secured to
the two part system drain that vinyl type pans fit in the middle of. The drains
are two different ones in nature. The screw on type whiich have a small rim.
Though most tile setter contractors like them cause the drain top can be
lowered and and lengthen for heigth variance. I like the other type whch I call
easy test drain. The have a much wider base. I work with one of the best
plumbers in San Francisco, he as two sons in his business as well. They are
very promp and home owner love em.

But to make a long story short the guy that did the previouos installation
didn't and I repeat didn't even secure the pan in the middle of the drain where
you tighten three bolts to clamp the drain.

This really amazes me that the pan was not even joined to the drain.
Absolutely amazingly dumb. The pan liner did not go up the wall. This is
incredible, I have not run accorss this kind of botched job in a long time. The
slate tile was actully thin set on the wood curb. No wire, no pan on the top of
the curb. just tile stuck to the wood. This just amazes me. I can't believe a
contactor could be so stupid to tile right on the wood curb.

The slate tile outstide the shower was just tile on the wood. Which should of
had at least a backerboard, It appears that they didn't even use an epoxy on
the plywood. But it should of had a 1/2 hardibacker. The other boards
Wonderboard whcih many contractors use cracks and flakes, Wonderboard
shouldn't even be sold on the market cause it cracks even when you pick it up
at home depot.

I brought in the home owner a bunch of time to display to her what the latest
atrocity the previous contractor did. But not clamping a pan between the two
part system drain is really incredibly stupid!!!!

Then to top it off they actually install water proof sheet rock as the backing
for a stall shower. Hello! I just am in shock of the stupidy.

I have many stories too many to mention, some are amazing. One contractor
didn't hire me cause he thought my bid was too high. Then he calls me after
these ladies installed this large entry in San Francisco . The tiles were wavy
and he was ready to have a heart attack.

Two other ladies installed a stall shower in wonderboard and couldn't get the
screws in far enough and I had to redo it.

I can go on and on about so many botched jobs from inept contractors.
Mostly resulting in home owners or general contractors not wanting to fork
the bucks for a pro to do it.

Sorry I veered off the subject.

Anyway. Amazing what I saw today!!

I love your restraint at the beginning and end - it lends an aura of
romance to the piece. And then your melody takes off and glides
across the dance floor!! Fantastic as always...
